In the owners’ own words, as filed with NHTSA. Unverified reports; NHTSA removes personal details before publishing.
Description of the Incident: While driving our RV on the expressway, the slide-out unexpectedly extended on its own without anyone pressing the control button or getting up from their seat. The slide-out extended several feet outward while the vehicle was moving at highway speed. Component/System that Failed: The slide-out mechanism/control system malfunctioned. It appears to have activated spontaneously. The component is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: This malfunction created an extreme safety hazard. The slide-out expanded into the next lane of traffic, putting our passengers, specifically our children seated at the dinette, at immediate risk of being struck or crushed…

I just pickup my 2021 Jayco Blackhawk 31f last friday, June 10, 2022, at 4 pm. I drove home for 35 mile from Johnson Rv in Gilroy. On the way home, I has lost control of the car by wobbling around the freeway by run over a tiny bump. I call the RV Dealership the same day, but they already closed. Next day morning on Saturday, I call them and they said the service department closed and need to wait until monday. I call on monday and talked to the Service department, they said they can not do anything and have me talk to my sales represent. The person sold to me, he does not work on monday and tuesday. Then I asked for the sale manager, and explain to him that the car wobble around on the…
We received the two recall notice letters from Ford Motor Company, 20V795 & 22V089, for our 2021 Jayco Redhawk class C RV. Upon receiving the first recall notice, 20V795, an appointment was made with our local Ford Dealer, Spradley Ford Lincoln Mercury, in Pueblo, CO, on Oct 1, 2021 to have it inspected and recall taken care of. Upon arrival that morning, was told they did not have the parts, would have to order them & their technician just called in "sick". Appointment was rescheduled once they had the recall parts in for Nov 15, 2021, again at our local Ford Dealer, Spradley Ford Lincoln Mercury, in Pueblo, CO. Upon arrival that morning to drop the unit off for the recall repair, was t…
On or about 8/12/2021 on the way home from Coos Bay, OR, I was making a right turn on a clover leaf to enter a freeway. There was a loud grinding noise, vibrations I could feel through the steering wheel, and the RV started fighting my steering inputs. I was unable to control either the speed or direction of the vehicle. It appeared the vehicle was going to leave the roadway. I did not notice any warning lights at the time. I was a preoccupied. According to Ford technicians a "Yaw" sensor detects an amount of sway beyond a set limit and initiated actions through the antilock braking system to maintain control of the vehicle. The Ford technicians were able to duplicate the problem. It occ…
I was driving slowly looking for an open gas station on a highwsy in Va. i attempted to make a left hand turn when i heard a snapping sound. I then had a complete loss of power steering and braking capacity. I started rolling across the highway mashing the brakes and finally put my Ebrake on stopping my RV. There were not any lights lit up on the dashboard before or after this incident. If i was going 70 down a busy highway, the outcome of this incident would be much different. My children would be planning my funeral today.

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2012–2027, owners most often name: steering, structure, engine. 12 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
