What Jaguar XF owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Jaguar XF safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season tires, size 255/35R20. I am requesting an immediate safety review and technical investigation regarding repeated failures of the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season tires installed on my Jaguar XF. The vehicle is equipped with Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season tires, size 255/35R20. Three of the four tires from this set have now suffered serious failures involving sudden rapid air loss/blowouts and apparent tread or belt separation. On 8/24/26 this happened spontanously on I-35 going 70 mph causing an almost deadly crash. These have not been ordinary slow leaks. The failures have occurred suddenly and have created a serious safety concern. I am now extremely concern…
The contact owns a 2012 Jaguar XF. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, there was gas leaking from the vehicle. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V521000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.

On May 2, 2026, ten days after purchasing the vehicle, the driverâside seatbelt locking mechanism failed while I was driving. The vehicle was inspected the next day at CarMax Tuscaloosa. Their mechanic confirmed two separate safety defects: 1. The driverâside seatbelt mechanism requires replacement. 2. The motor mounts are broken/loose and require replacement. The mechanic explained that debris was found inside the seatbelt mechanism, and the seatbelt needed full replacement. He also confirmed that the motor mounts were broken/loose, which can cause excessive engine movement, vibration, loss of power, or engine shifting during braking or acceleration. These conditions increase the risk o…
While driving my vehicle on numerous occasions, I get the alert âStop safely, electrical fault detectedâ. I have to pull over and rest my vehicle before driving again. If I continue to drive, the car shifts into neutral and loses power. This is very dangerous and it will stop anywhere while driving. I took it to the dealership in VA where I lived at the time in 2023. I was told there was no issue detected. I took it to the dealership in PA after I moved in 2024 and was told it could possibly be the alternator which was replaced. The error still occurs on and off since then. This began in November 2023, 3 months after buying the vehicle. The vehicle was new and I first started getting th…
The contact's son owns a 2011 Jaguar XF. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that gasoline was leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V521000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The mechanic referred the contact to the dealer, who informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Jaguar XF. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken for inspection, and the contact was advised that the front driverâs side ball joint on the suspension was cracked and needed to be replaced. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Jaguar XF. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal fuel odor inside the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the fuel odor was more evident while the A/C unit was activated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact stated that the fuel cap was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V521000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); as a possible cause for the failure; however, the VIN was not included. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to r…

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20
In October 2012, Jaguar Land Rover LLC (JLR) submitted a Defect Information Report (DIR) to NHTSA describing a defect condition that could result in pressurized fuel leaks around the fuel supply line connection on the upper surface of the fuel tank assemblies of approximately 4,152 model year (MY) 2010 Jaguar XF vehicles equipped with 5.0L engines and manufactured between April 2009 and January 2010 (Recall 12V-521). The DIR indicated that the fuel system operating pressures of 5.0L gasoline eng
On December 16, 2016, ODI opened PE16-015 to investigate seven complaints alleging incidents of powered rollaway in model year (MY) 2012 through 2014 Land Rover/Range Rover Evoque and Jaguar XF vehicles. The complaints all alleged that the rollaway incidents occurred after the operators shifted to Park and exited the vehicle with the engine left running. All of the incidents alleged that crashes resulted from the unexpected vehicle movement and three alleged injuries. Two of the complaints count
Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2024, owners most often name: fuel/propulsion system, engine, air bags. 304 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
