I am reporting a potential fuel/fire safety defect involving TWO brand-new 2027 Infiniti QX80s. My first QX80 developed a strong raw-gasoline odor after driving/shutdown, especially when parked in my residential garage. I repeatedly reported this to Infiniti. Various explanations were given, including Arizona heat and gasoline formulation. The dealer ultimately exchanged the vehicle. The replacement 2027 QX80 developed substantially the SAME gasoline odor after only about 12 miles from the dealership to my home. I returned it for evaluation. There has been a constant gas smell coming from gas tank area since we purchased vehicle in 2/2026. I thought it was just fumes from adding fuel but have since (while reaching in to retrieve grandbaby from back seat, I noticed a strong smell reaching towards driver door and a slight gas smell reaching inside vehicle. I've had 2 incidents where my vehicle has stopped and not restarting. I took it to the dealership, and they stated I needed a starter. I see there are several complaints regarding this issue with the model QX80. Ive also had to get 2 new batteries with 1 year. Please look into the issues. I went to the dealership on 8/18/2026 they said my vehicle didn't start . My vehicle did start and I took it to another repair shop and save over 1300.00 To say my car wouldn't start and it did . I'm glad it did so I didn't have to pay so much for and it was done in less than 1hr
