Cluster seal failed causing moisture to build up under the glass. Escalated to the point where the cluster does not illuminate at all. I can not see my speed, miles, gear, or even how much gas I have which is a huge safety concern for being able to ride in the road with other people. Knowing my speed and gear Iâm in is essential to safely drive. Dealership did submit for goodwill with manufacturer which was denied due to being out of factory warranty. The issue presented itself just with water visibly under the glass about 1-3 months ago.
1. While holding a constant line and speed, I suddenly felt a sharp jolt from the rear of the motorcycle followed by rapid bouncing. 2. The rear wheel locked instantly. I heard the tire skid and felt it stop rotating. 3. The ABS indicator illuminated, yet there was no braking input from me. 4. I attempted gentle steering correction, but with the rear wheel fully locked the motorcycle destabilized and threw me to the right. 5. I struck the pavement injured my left knee and right hand. The motorcycle slid and came to rest on the northeast sidewalk ramp at the corner of NE 102nd St / N Wallace Ave.
The contact owns a 2020 Indian Scout. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed, while attempting to stop the front tire failed to decelerate as intended while the front brake pedal was depressed. The entire brake caliper rotated off the disc and jammed the wheel itself, causing it to lock up, and the son fell off the motorcycle, crashing to the pavement. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a broken front brake Caliper assembly, which caused the vehicle to fall over, causing damage to the shift lever and footrest upon falling onto its left side. The contact stated that his son's right forearm was injured however, no medical att…
I currently have 5K miles on the bike. All 5K miles I have had stalling issues. These issues mostly happen when lightly feathering the throttle while pulling out. This issue is not in my clutch work. It seems to be in the throttle sensor. The bike has began to randomly shut down on my while riding. This is always random and cannot be reproduced at will. It does however seem to only happen with a zero throttle position and clutch fully disengaged position (while riding). This is not quite the case when pulling out, the issue presents with a slight throttle and the clutch just starting to friction, if you attempt to throttle the bike dies. The throttle sensor is not correct. Furthermore it see…
The ABS system light has came on and stayed on, when I took in it to Indian they said it was a very common problem. They then cleaned the sensors but that only worked for a few miles down the road and then came back on. They also said that the ABS MODULE could be defective. With Indian motorcycles if the ABS light stays on then the ABS might not work which in turn will cause the wheels to lock up. The issue first appeared about a year ago
The contact owns a 2015 Indian Scout motorcycle equipped with Michelin Tires, Tire Line: Commander 2, Tire Size: 150/80/60, DOT Number: W8F700BX2623. The contact stated that while riding at speeds between 50 - 60 MPH, the motorcycle experienced a light hopping and became slightly unstable. The contact measured the tires and determined that the front tire was out of round. The contact stated that the tire was a replacement tire. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,500. The VIN was not available.
I was parked in the Samâs parking lot, bike had been parked for approximately 2 hours. My wife, myself and my son were all there at the time this event transacted. My wife had her Jeep and I was on my bike as I had met them there to do some shopping. While loading my wifeâs car I decided to start my bike and start getting a little heat in it before we left. I approached the bike and pressed the power button, Ride command normally takes over 30 seconds to boot, so I stood there waiting for the screen. Once the screen booted I reach down with my foot and bring the shifter from first to neutral. This can be verified and validated by the audible click of the shifter as well as on the Ride C…
The gauge cluster display is inaccurate and very slow to display information such as speed/rpm/fuel lever/neutral selection etc. this causes a very dangerous situation where critical vehicle information is inaccurate and not being displayed to the operator in real time which could lead to an accident
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2015–2025, owners most often name: electrical system, service brakes, fuel/propulsion system. 34 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
