2023 Hyundai Tucson Limited, 2.5L GDI, Alabama-built (VIN 5NMXXXXXXXXXXXXXX), built [XXX]. On [XXX], at about 37,550 miles, the check engine light came on flashing and the engine ran rough while I was traveling in Canada. My scan tool showed P0300, P0302 and P0304 (misfires on cylinders 2 and 4). On July 6, 2026, Experience Hyundai in Charlottetown, PE (service order 92XXX) replaced one ignition coil under warranty. No fuel injector leak test was performed. The misfires returned. On [XXX], at 39,409 miles, my scan showed P0302 active and P0304 pending. The car also had extended cranking after sitting and the check engine light was on. I was told I could keep driving the car unless it start…
Dashboard vehicle information screen displays "NO SIGNAL" 100% of the time, The information screen is supposed to show speedometer, tach, gas and other details of the condition of the vehicle. This has been continuous for the past 3 days, before that has happened repeatedly before resetting itself. Safety recall 26V400000 DID NOT correct the problem
I own a 2026 Hyundai Tucson Limited and am reporting extremely poor daytime visibility of the entire lower row of touch-sensitive controls on the center dashboard. The illuminated symbols and status indicators are so dim in normal daylight, and especially in bright sunlight, that they are difficult to see while driving. This includes the climate controls and heated/ventilated seat controls. The ventilated-seat control is a particularly concerning example because I can press the control but cannot reliably determine whether it is OFF, LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH without looking closely at the panel. The controls function properly, but their status is essentially invisible in daylight, requiring the …
The contact leases a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving 72 MPH, the adaptive cruise control deactivated, and the vehicle decelerated unintendedly to 60 MPH. The messages "Front Assist Collision Warning" and "Front Assist Collision Limited" were displayed. The contact stated that while reversing, the vehicle stopped abruptly, jerking the driver back and forth. Additionally, the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert system was intermittently inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the front camera software was updated under NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V316000 (Forward Collision Avoidance); however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the fro…
While driving my 2025 Hyundai Tucson hybrid in traffic, the car suddenly would not accelerate normally when I pressed the accelerator. I was frightened and concerned because I was in active traffic and could not make the car accelerate any faster. I turned on my hazard lights, cut the car completely off, and then restarted it. After restarting, driving returned to normal. The first time it happened, the problem went away after restarting. I thought that I may have done something wrong. The same problem happened again many weeks later. I called Oxmoor Hyundai to explain that I believed this was a safety issue. I had to wait more than 30 days for a service appointment. The dealership kept my c…
Failed Component: Engine assembly / internal powertrain (specifically, a connecting rod bearing failure in cylinder #2 causing severe engine knocking and risk of mechanical seizure). The vehicle is available for inspection, the complete vehicle and affected engine assembly are intact and available for inspection upon request at CMA's Hyundai of Lexington Park: [XXX] Safety Risk: A rod bearing failure causes violent engine knocking, severe loss of engine power, and eventual engine seizure or stalling while driving. Losing propulsion unexpectedlyâespecially at highway speeds or in heavy trafficâcreates an immediate collision risk for the vehicle occupants and surrounding traffic due to s…
On three occasions my car suddenly stopped transferring power by not accelerating when the gas pedal was pressed. The first time the engine light came on and when I brought it for service they said it was a sensor covered by warranty and repaired it. The second time it happened while I was trying to merge with traffic on the highway. I took an exit and managed to get to the dealer. They replaced the fuel injector and fuel line. The third time, first the car struggled to start after work. Then, I was pulling out of the parking lot, crossing a very busy road. The car could barely get up to and past 20 mph. Once I got it to 35 or so, I stayed on local roads with my hazards on, and managed to g…
Vehicle was operating normally and when arriving at a gas station to refuel the vehicle would not start after turning off. Vehicle was towed to the dealership (Larry Miller Hyundai Albuquerque, and a seized motor was described as the discrepancy. No further maintenance has been performed.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received eight Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) and eight Kia America, Inc. (Kia) Part 573 Recall Reports between 2016 and 2023. The combined 16 safety recalls all involve the antilock braking system (ABS) modules or Hydraulic Electronic Control Units (HECU) manufactured by the equipment supplier Mando. The Part 573 Recall Reports contain varying defect descriptions and differing remedy descriptions for the same or similar equipment supplied by Mando.
NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The petition can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI Number 11486072. FMVSS 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) received a letter dated July 13, 2022, petitioning the Agency to initiate a safety defect investigation into loss of motive power allegations attributed to oil drain pan assembly failures on certain Hyundai Motor America, Inc. and Kia America, Inc. vehicles spanning Model Years (MY) 2005-2021. In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: engine, power train, unknown or other. 6,222 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
