Today I was driving on highway when all of a sudden the psi went from 22 to 0 on my back left tire. We pulled over and the tire came off the rim and somehow sliced the tire. I checked and there were no punctures and nothing in the tire. According to tow truck driver the back right tire is getting ready to do the same thing. This is the second time within a couple months I got a flat. I've never had issues with tires of this type on other vehicle The tow truck brought vehicle to Simmons Rockwell in Elmira. Waiting for them to call
Accelerator stopped working on the highway. Dash displayed an electrical system warning and speed dropped to a crawl. The hazard came from being on an interstate at night and the closing speed for everyone behind us. Fortunately we were by an exit and could drive in the shoulder at 25 mph to it. Vehicle was towed to Stew Hansen Hyundai in Clive, IA. 12-volt battery, ICU and high-voltage fuse were replaced. My VIN did not appear in NHTSA recall lookup results for this issue.
Driving the car at 30 mph, the vehicle suddenly failed to accelerate while pressing on the gas pedal. I was forced to pull over as soon as possible to try to resolve the issue at hand. Thankfully, the breaks still worked and I was able to come to a full stop, turn off the car, and restart the car. There were no warning lamps/ messages that appeared before or after the time of the incident. (Incident occurred Aug 11) This is the second incident that my car's acceleration failed while in the middle of driving. Previously, this had happened while on the freeway during stop and go congestion (Oct 2025). This is a severe life-threatening safety concern as the failures have happened while the car…
1. The HORN suddenly stops working. This happened 3x in a 6 month span. The first time the horn wouldn't work all day. However, next day it did. Second time it didn't work for 3 days. Last time it stopped working completely just before Memorial Day weekend. I have read it is a known issue in Hyundai Ioniq 6 forums. 2. Forward Collision Warning is to Invasive. Once it even stopped on the freeway while trying to merge in a difficult interchange. 2 cars almost hit me from behind when my car suddenly stopped. I was however in complete control of the situation. 3. Rear Backup camera stops to much when person is 8 feet past my car. It just suddenly STOPS even when person is walking awa…
I experienced a safety critical failure in my 2024 Hyundai Ionic 6. While attempting to start the vehicle, the car displayed a red 12 Volt battery warning light, a battery discharge warning, and then refused to enter ready mode. The vehicle would only shift into neutral and was completely undrivable. After sitting for many hours, the vehicle started again, which is consistent with an intermittent ICCU/DC-DC converter dropout. This type of failure is known to cause loss of power and has been documented in NHTSA investigation PE23-011 for other Hyundai EV's. The dealership states they cannot replicate the issue and refuses further diagnostics. Hyundai corporate is deferring entirely to the dea…
NHTSA COMPLAINT â SHORT VERSION I am reporting a persistent, unresolved, safety-related steering defect in my 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 (leased 10/12/2024). Beginning in September 2025 at approximately 15,412 miles, the vehicle exhibits: (1) uncontrolled steering wheel shifting left and right at highway speeds; (2) hard pulling to the left when accelerating or decelerating; and (3) the vehicle swaying or jerking within its lane without driver input. I described the issue to the dealer as "pretty dangerous to drive" â this language is documented in Repair Order #XXX. Despite 6+ documented repair attempts over 9 service visits from September 2025 through May 2026, the defect remains unresolved.…
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The vehicle's cellular connectivity becomes 100% non-functioning until head unit reset. This occurs some days after the car is parked in an area without cell coverage and is then driving into cell coverage area, even directly under cell towers. It appears to give up trying to connect when parked out of range and never attempts to reconnect. until manually reset. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Without in-vehicle connectivity, automated crash alerts / location information is unavailable. There's NO indication there's a problem unless certain information screens are v…
"While driving a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 at approximately 10,000 miles, the vehicle experienced a sudden, catastrophic Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) failure with no advance warning. The vehicle instantly experienced a total electrical shutdown while the car was on the ramp. The failure completely bypassed and disabled standard safety redundancies: the electronic parking brake/emergency brake system failed , and the 12-volt backup battery died instantly, making it impossible to activate the hazard lights. The vehicle became a completely invisible, immovable dead weight on an active roadway, presenting an imminent, extreme threat of crash, injury, or death to myself and surrounding moto…

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
On October 3, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) opened PE24028 to investigate alleged failures of Enel X Way's JuiceBox Level 2 residential EV chargers. The allegations were described as thermal incidents and electrical malfunctions, which could trip the circuit breakers in Juicebox ownersâ homes and disrupt electric vehicle charge cycles. In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2023–2026, owners most often name: electrical system, unknown or other, power train. 129 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
