The Honda infotainment screens have a history of "Phantom Touches". I have replaced my infotainment system once under warranty. The problem is that while out in sunlight the vehicle's infotainment system will randomly beep and change screens and functions on its own as bands of sunlight enter via the windshield or side windows. It is extremely distracting and things like switching music souces from blutooth source to radio, cutting in and out, swapping to the default screen saver, vehicle settings screens in the middle of turning in traffic are inherently hazardous. The Insight's windshield is already factory tinted at 70% VLT. Adding an IR rejecting window film will reduce the light passed …
My vehicle underwent Hondaâs fuel-pump safety recall repair at an authorized Honda dealer on April 1, 2025. After the recall repair, the vehicle developed a sensor warning directing me to return to the dealer. On February 17, 2026, the dealer inspected the vehicle. Its repair record states âHIGH CIRCUIT VOLTAGEâ at terminal #2 and âFOUND PIN MELTED IN FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY.â The dealer replaced the complete fuel-pump assembly at no charge. A dealership representative later told me their mechanic had accidentally caused the melted-pin condition during the earlier recall work. Since then, I have experienced recurring instrument-cluster/display corruption with vertical lines/banding th…
I purchased a new 2022 Honda Insight from a dealership. The vehicle began shaking when I was driving and even stopped in the roadway several times. Honda has inspected and attempted to repair the vehicle but multiple people have indicated that the issue cannot be resolved and was sold to me as a faulty vehicle. Honda, specifically, the mediation department ([XXX]), has indicated that they would not be resolving the issue in any way. It is important to note that this occurred regardless of whether the check engine light was on or off. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2011 Honda Insight. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, there was a loud clunking sound coming from the vehicle while depressing the accelerator pedal. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the motor mounts had failed and needed to be replaced. The motor mounts were replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the warranty might be honored. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Insight. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the Forward Collision Avoidance system independently activated, and the vehicle shuddered abnormally. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,500.
I was driving to Pilates class and everything was normal but as I reached a railroad crossing the car suddenly and for no reason stopped dead on the tracks. Luckily for me there were no vehicles in front or behind me and there were no trains coming. I was terrified and wasnât sure what to do but I pushed the Drive button and the vehicle went ahead as if nothing happened.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Insight. The contact stated that while shifted into reverse, the rear-view camera failed to display a clear view image on the screen. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the center display made random selections without the screen being touched. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the screen needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the same dealer three times for the same failures and the vehicle was previously repaired. The vehicle was not repaired again. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
The car was last driven and parked at about 8:30pm local time. At around noon the next day, we noticed that the dashboard in the vicinity of the passenger airbag was melted with an approximately 12-inch hole. There was soot staining the interior of the vehicle, and the windshield was burned and cracked above the hole in the dashboard.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2022, owners most often name: air bags, engine, forward collision avoidance. 455 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
