The vehicle has experienced extensive factory paint adhesion failure/delamination. The White Orchid Pearl paint is separating and peeling in large sheets across multiple panels, including the hood, roof/roof-rail areas, and multiple doors. The damage is not consistent with isolated rock chips, scratches, or collision damage. The peeling first began approximately 2½ weeks ago, approximately two years after the expiration of an existing Honda paint-related recall/warranty extension. The timing raises concern that the coverage period may have expired before the underlying paint failure had sufficient time to materially manifest. An independent automotive estimator inspected the vehicle and c…

The contact owns a 2020 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that while entering the vehicle, there was abnormal white smoke inside the cabin of the vehicle, and the contact stated that a white cakey substance was in the smoke, which the contact inhaled. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact was concerned that the air bag might deploy unintendedly. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 53,000.
Vehicle began making loud chainsaw noise. Took to original location of purchase (Nissan Dealer - bought as used at 42k, no issues), was told that alternator, drive belt and tensioner were needing replacement as that was the location of noise. Took to Honda Dealer where I was originally told just tensioner, now they are stating alternator is faulty along with tensioner. Car only has 72k and most of miles are highway miles. No warning signs other than loud chainsaw noise that was constant while car in drive and idling (no noise in reverse).
To Whom It May Concern, I am requesting assistance with a serious steering issue involving my 2025 Honda HR-V, which I purchased on XXX, from Coral Springs Honda in [XXX]. While driving northbound on XXX toward [XXX] with my daughter in the vehicle, the steering began making a loud noise and felt as though it was about to lock. I was unable to steer properly, creating a serious safety concern for my family and other drivers. I brought the vehicle to the dealership and was told I may have to pay for the repair because I exceeded the mileage limit. However, I understand that similar steering problems have been reported with HR-V vehicles, and I believe this issue should be investigated as a…
My 2025 Honda HR-V experienced an apparent braking/ABS/VSA system malfunction and is currently at the Honda dealership. The dealership has not released the vehicle back to me, and it is available for inspection. I was completely stopped at a traffic light with my foot firmly on the brake when the vehicle unexpectedly began moving forward while my foot remained on the brake. I did not press the accelerator. The vehicle moved forward and contacted the stopped vehicle in front of me at very low speed. I was unable to keep the vehicle stationary despite applying the brake, putting my safety and the safety of others at risk. The car i hit did have damage and they are filing a claim against my ins…

I was driving to work at XXX for my 7:00am shift. Car started bucking and not responding to when I hit the gas. Was nervous so I left car at XXX and walked to work. I had car towed to Ocean Honda in Weymouth, MA. They ran a special diagnostics on my car and determined it was transmission failure. No lights ever came on prior to this incident and no symptoms prior to this. The car dealer told me I would need a new transmission for $10,000. I bought the car in 2023 from Hyannis Honda in Hyannis, MA. It had 26,000 miles on it and it now has 66,809. I feel this car had a manufacturer defect with such low mileage and I am thankful nothing happened to me. I am a nurse and now have no car. I called…

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2016–2027, owners most often name: unknown or other, visibility/wiper, electrical system. 1,847 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
