I was driving my 2021 Honda CR-V hybrid touring at approximately 55 mph on [XXX] near the [XXX] exit. The vehicle had been operating normally. Approximately 115 miles before the incident. I had filled the vehicle with gasoline at BJ's in [XXX]. At approximately 11:50 am on XXX, the malfunction indicator lamp (check-engine light) began flashing while I was driving at highway speed. At the same time, the vehicle began smoothly losing power and slowing down. There was no shaking or rough running. I immediately pulled over, activated my hazard lights and turned the vehicle off for approximately 8 minutes. After restarting the vehicle, the malfunction indicator lamp was no longer flashing and the…
This has happened 4 time so far. The vehicle was running fine, and then suddenly the check engine light starts to flash and engine has no power and loses speed, pressing the accelerator does nothing although you can see the power bar on the dashboard light up, but no power. The issue is resolved once you restart the vehicle.
2026 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport Touring Loses power and stumbles periodically when making a left hand turn. Has happened three times in the first 2300 miles. Occurred when making 90 degree left turn from stop or slow roll. Brought it to the dealer on 9/26/26. Honda Turnersville NJ. They say they can not reproduce the issue and they are not showing any fault codes, other than the radio.
My 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid (125,000 miles) has repeatedly lost propulsion power at highway speeds. On Sept. 19, 2026, the vehicle suddenly lost drive power, slowed rapidly, and came to a complete stop in high-speed traffic. The dashboard displayed: âCritical Failure Detected. Stop Driving When Safeâ and âPower System Problem. Do Not Drive.â The vehicle had to be turned off and restarted three times before enough power returned to move off the road. No crash occurred, but there was a serious risk of being rear-ended. The vehicle has come to a complete stop twice, and similar power-loss events have occurred multiple times. The same problem resulted in five dealership visits: ⢠Aug. …

I started driving at 8am in warm weather and drove 5 minutes or so when I entered the highway and when I started acceleration it stopped increasing beyond 40 miles and the speed started reducing while engine light came on and started flashing, I slowly exited the highway right away, entered a parking lot and shut the car off. I restarted after a few minutes and started driving again and it drove like nothing happened. No warning messages or notifications were on and no engine light came on.
Car completely shut down with every warning light going off. Before 95,000 the head gasket blew with zero warning signs! All the warning lamps came on only the day the car totally stopped working. No prior warning or signs before.
The contact owns a 2020 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH, the brakes failed to operate as needed. The brake pedal was depressed, and the brake pedal almost went down to the floorboard, and the braking distance became extended. The vehicle was driven to supermarket parking lot and gradually slowed down before slowly being driven back to the residence. The brakes, VSA and road departure warning lights were illuminated with several other unknown warning lights. The dealer was contacted and diagnosed the vehicle with brake failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted by phone and was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2…

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 48 Vehicle Owner Questionnaire (VOQ) reports and some Early Warning Reporting (EWR) field reports alleging intermittent loss of motive power in Model Year (MY) 2020â2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid vehicles.  These incidents are alleged to occur without warning at highway speeds and are accompanied by a flashing check engine light immediately before the loss of motive power occurs. Motive power can be restored by turning the ignition off and back
On February 21, 2022, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation (PE22003) to assess reports of inadvertent activation of the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), an automatic emergency braking (AEB) system, in model year 2017-2019 Honda CR-V and 2018-2019 Honda Accord vehicles. The reports allege that activation of the AEB system occurs while driving with no apparent obstruction in the vehicle's forward path, resulting in sudden vehicle deceleration. In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2020–2027, owners most often name: steering, engine, forward collision avoidance. 494 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
