The car ACC turns orange, you canât control your speed, the car starts to slow down like itâs losing power. I got a new battery. Still will cut off during drive and you canât accelerate. This could cause a major accident. I was turning into a parking lot and lost power. Had to cut the engine off, and hurry up and restart it just to get out the way.
Here is a condensed version that includes the engineer and should fit within a **2,000-character limit**: The driver-assistance, lane-mitigation, and collision-avoidance systems in my 2025 Honda Accord have malfunctioned. Warning lights and messages have appeared while driving. I have photographs of the warning lights, service records, and documentation of the dates and times the problems occurred. The most serious incident occurred in approximately mid-June 2026. The vehicle suddenly stopped because the system apparently believed another vehicle was turning in front of me. The other vehicle was properly traveling in its own lane and was not entering my path. Had someone been driving close…
2018 Honda Accord repeated battery drain/electrical failure My 2018 Honda Accord has a recurring electrical problem. The vehicleâs battery is approximately one year old, but it has died six times within the last four weeks. Each time, the battery becomes completely discharged when the vehicle is parked and not driven for several days. A battery test dated XXX, reported: âBAD & REPLACE,â battery health 16%, state of charge 0%, voltage 4.61 V, and measured capacity 106 CCA compared with a rated capacity of 600 CCA. The repeated failures suggest a possible parasitic electrical drain or electronic module that does not shut down when the vehicle is parked. This condition can leave the vehic…
This is the second tire of the four purchased in 2022 that have cracks in the sidewall (tread separation from sidewall). They are the Goodyear Assurance Maxlife 235/40R19 96V. No warning to the loss of tire pressure and the time it takes for the cracks to propagate. When I brought the first tire back to Sam's Club (where I originally purchased the tires), the replacement was prorated based on tire wear. No indication that there was a defect on the replaced tire, and more importantly, no inspection or concern that the replacement left three remaining defective tire on the vehicle.
The vehicle is experiencing an immediate and severe safety hazard due to a total electrical and mechanical failure within the steering column assembly. The driver horn has stopped working entirely, leaving the vehicle with no way to audibly warn pedestrians or other drivers in an emergency. Additionally, all integrated steering wheel auxiliary controls and buttons are completely non-functional, which points to a failed clock spring/cable reel or an electrical short inside the steering column. This total system failure creates an unacceptably high risk of a collision and raises severe concerns regarding whether the driver's steering wheel airbag will properly deploy in an accident. The vehicl…
Dashboard lights are coming on for all systems...sometimes they go off but then come back on 2/3 days later. The lights and messages are: collison mitigation braking problem, road departure mitigation system problem, emission system problems avoid heavy acceleration and high speed, tire pressure monitoring system problem, brake system problem brake performance may be reduced, electric power steering system problems steering assist reduced , vehicle stability assist system problem, reduced traction and handling. Concerned about my safety.
I have received a warning on my dashboard "FCW SYSTEM FAILED" at 106,000 miles. It is available for inspection upon request. I am now at 108,000 miles and I am fearful of my safety when driving on the highway and especially during bad, rainy, snowy weather. This puts me and others on the road at high risk. This problem has been confirmed by Hall Honda in Virginia Beach VA. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance reps. Yes, a warning did appear on my dash after the battery and starter were replaced on this vehicle.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INFOTAINMENT HEAD UNIT / AUDIO AMPLIFIER. While driving my 2016 Honda Accord, the vehicle's infotainment head unit and factory audio amplifier suffered a sudden, catastrophic hardware failure. Without warning or driver input, the audio system emitted an explosive, deafening static screech at maximum volume (estimated at 85â90 decibels). This unexpected, extreme noise triggered an immediate startle response, nearly causing a loss of vehicle control on a busy road. The infotainment head unit completely locked up; the power button, volume knob, and steering wheel controls were entirely unresponsive. Anything can trigger this static response such as connecting to Bluetooth us…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
On February 21, 2022, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation (PE22003) to assess reports of inadvertent activation of the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), an automatic emergency braking (AEB) system, in model year 2017-2019 Honda CR-V and 2018-2019 Honda Accord vehicles. The reports allege that activation of the AEB system occurs while driving with no apparent obstruction in the vehicle's forward path, resulting in sudden vehicle deceleration. Honda
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20
On April 4, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) opened RQ24006 to investigate American Honda Motor Co.âs (Hondaâs) proposed remedy for recall 23V-782 as well as scope of the vehicles involved. Honda issued recall 23V-782 on November 21, 2023, which concerns certain model year (MY) 2023-2024 Honda Accord, Honda Accord Hybrid, and Honda HR-V vehicles. Recall 23V-782 states that the driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioner assemblies may have been manufactured without a ri
NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this investigation to determine if the failure of airbags to deploy during severe crashes, in certain vehicles, was the result of a safety related defect. During the investigation a complex failure was studied that can result in non-deployment of subject vehicle air bags and other restraint system devices in severe crash events. The subject vehicles may be equipped with an airbag control unit (ACU) for the supplemental restraint system (SRS) Ele
Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: electrical system, engine, unknown or other. 9,945 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
