The rear spring shackles that hold the leaf springs and axle to the frame of the trailer broke off of the frame while going down the road. I took the RV to Clyde's Frame shop in Pontiac MI. and was told that this is a very common problem with frames made by Lippert because they do not brace the shackles the way they should be to prevent this from happening. I have filed an insurance claim but they have not inspected the damage to the RV yet. Thankfully we were only driving at a low speed and noticed a lot of smoke coming from the back of the RV. If we would have been traveling at highway speeds the rear tires would have blown out causing the RV to become very unstable or cause a serious acc…
During the purchase inspection it was determined the emergency exit window was blocked by the kitchen sink. In addition, this window right next to the main entrance door. It is my opinion where the exit is location, the occupants of the trailer could not us this exit in a timely manner. In addition, being right next to main door, it doesn't leave an additional exit option. Also, while talking to the service manager at the dealership. He stated this is the second trailer he has seen with this issue.

A PRESS RIVET FAILED CAUSING THE STEPS TO NOT BE SUPPORTED ON THE RIGHT SIDE. THIS HAPPENED WHEN SOMEONE WAS ON THE STEPS CAUSING THEM TO LOOSE THEIR BALANCE. HEARTLAND INDICATED THAT IT IS "OUT OF WARRANTY" AND THAT THEY CANNOT "ASSIST WITH COVERING THE REPAIRS ON THIS UNIT." OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED. *JS

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2011–2022, owners most often name: tires, equipment, structure. 11 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
