UNKNOWN On 1/16/26, I was parked in an underground parking spot. When I moved the gear shift into reverse and lifted my foot from the pedal, the car surged more than expected and the left mirror hit the cement pillar. The dealership advised me to open a claim with a manufacturer so they could review the other ongoing issues as well as the acceleration that caused the accident. A 3rd party engineer reviewed the "black box" and said there was no acceleration issues and the manufacturer is not liable. However, issues have continued until present. Today, 8/5/26, I picked up the vehicle from the service about the continuous warning light that started coming on intermittently 3 days after purchas…
A/C compressor not coming on when cabin A/C does. This means it is also not coming on to cool the battery, which could prevent proper battery thermal management, raising safety and performance risks in hot climates. A/C compressor and inverter have been replaced without resolving the issue. It has been to two dealerships that independently diagnosed the problem as the A/C compressor. The car is currently at Allen Turner Genesis in Pensacola, FL so it should be available for inspection. There were no warning lamps illuminated.
This complaint is in regards to Safety Recall 272 Component Failure and Vehicle Disabling / SOS System Failure On [XXX], at approximately [XXX] PM, I was driving my Genesis vehicle during rush hour when I heard a loud popping sound. Immediately following the sound, the dashboard displayed a critical warning light stating: "Electrical Charging System Fault â Check Electrical System." Because I was actively driving in heavy rush-hour traffic, this sudden loss of charging system functionality posed an immediate safety hazard. I pressed the in-vehicle "SOS" button to contact Genesis emergency services. The operator, who identified himself as "Eddie," refused to dispatch a tow truck to assist m…
Related Recall: 24-01-023G DTC P1A9096 CHECK FOR ICCU & FUSE REPLACEMENT & ICCU SOFTWARE UPDATE (RECALL 021G) On August 8, 2025 I was vacationing and attempted to charge the vehicle at a hotel's level 2 destination charger (32 amp) but the vehicle refused to charge. I then drove 20 minutes away to DC Fast Charge and it worked, and tried level 2 charging again, it still did not work. I ruled out that the level 2 charging station was the problem due to seeing someone else successfully charging from that station. When I returned home, I found that my home charger also stopped charging at 32 amps (though slower 16 amps still worked). On December 14, 2025 I was driving on the highway when I hea…

The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) on my Genesis GV60 called Highway Driving Assist (HDA) would randomly turn off without warning ever since I purchased the vehicle. I use it pretty much daily for my commute to work (but have to watch closely since it turns off often without warning) and the system would randomly turn off a least a few times a day so I would need to take over quickly. Yesterday when I was driving in the carpool HOV lane in the Los Angeles area where some sections of the freeway have lane markers that are very close to the center divider and the car decided to randomly turn off ADAS without warning which resulted in a car swipe against the center divider and dam…
Brakes failed completely and car rolled down a steep driveway and flipped.
My wife and I have both experienced intermittent power loss on the vehicle â specifically after stopping and restarting, such as at traffic signals. During these incidents, the car moves extremely slowly even with the accelerator fully pressed, before eventually resuming normal acceleration. This has happened 3â4 times between us, and on one occasion, the car nearly stalled in the middle of an intersection, which was genuinely frightening. I brought the vehicle to Genesis of Charlotte in mid-January 2026 for diagnosis. After multiple checks, the service team was unable to identify any issues and advised me to take the car back. When I asked whether they had checked with Genesis for any …

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2023–2026, owners most often name: electrical system, power train, unknown or other. 77 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
