I have been supplied with a number of these turn signal switches that have a failure in the left rear output. There is no indication to the driver that the left rear turn/hazard signal is not working. The only manufacturer identification I have is MPR, these are supplied by UPS.
The contact owns a 2011 Freightliner MT-55. The contact stated while coming to a complete stop and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle inadvertently attempted to accelerate. The message "Check Hybrid System" was displayed. The contact applied more pressure to the brake pedal and the vehicle started to jerk. In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2016, owners most often name: air bags, exterior lighting, hybrid propulsion system. 3 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
