The contact owns a 2027 Forest River Wildwood RV. After the purchase, the contact discovered from research that the VIN is included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V586000 (Equipment). The contact stated that at the time of the purchase the dealer failed to disclose the open recall or the associated manufacturer "Stop Sale" order. The dealer was contacted to request a buy back but refused. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact was concerned that the RV posed an imminent fire hazard while in use.
The faulty wiring of the battery caused it to catch fire. The vehicle is currently available for inspection, at the dealership. We have the fire report, the independent fire inspection report, and the recall that was mailed to us by the manufacturer, as well as the inspection and estimate from the insurance company. My husband and infant daughter were inside when it caught fire directly under the propane tanks. There were no warning signs, the neighbor saw smoke from the window, that was the only warning that was had.
The contact owns a 2025 Forest River Wildwood. The contact stated that the door on the trailer could be wiggled from the inside and was not properly secured to the trailer. The contact saw sawdust near the heating system after removing the propane service cover, and the water heater overheated. The front left side of the trailer was fractured due to the screws rusting and fracturing from water leaking into the trailer. The contact stated that there was water and wet surfaces near all the windows. The contact stated that the failure started since the trailer was purchased, placing it on land as a place of residency, and the trailer never moved afterwards. The trailer had not been taken to the…
The contact owns a 2024 Forest River Wildwood Trailer. The contact stated that excessive heat generated by the oven and there was no venting system around the appliance. The contact stated that during normal operation, the heat buildup caused melting of the backsplash behind the oven and melting and heat damage beneath an adjacent drawer. The contact stated that smoke, overheating, and melting were observed. No fire had occurred; however, the contact expressed concerns that there was a potential fire hazard. The trailer was permanently parked and was not inspected. A repair shop inspected the trailer onsite and advised the contact that the oven, backsplash, and venting system needed to be re…
My wife and I went camping to our favorite RV park in Lyndon Station Wisconsin, my sister met us there for a weekend of relaxation and visit. During the first nights stay we were suddenly woke by a smoke filled bedroom/bathroom. Got up and flipped light on and our bedroom was filled with smoke immediately my wife heard a buzzing noise and then the sound of light switch being flipped off hard. I immediately woke my sister up in the front of the coach. Opened the door to get fresh air. Its 1:18 in the morning. Searched frantically for the source, had extinguisher ready. Opened every compartment underneath, the very rear of the RV has storage underneath. The smell of burning wires were strong …
Tire size 205/75/r14 on a 2020 Forest River Wildwood single axel camper. Today was the second time one of these tires failed. The first time was early November of 2024, we were traveling in I69 in Indiana at around 65mph when the drivers side tire rapidly deflated and came apart. Today, we were traveling around 70mph on I70 in Indiana when I heard an explosion type sound and looked in my mirror to see tread flying in the air. During the first time, damage to the camper was minimal. Today bent metal and damaged the leveler, likely beyond repair. The tire that blew today was the spare tire that was put on in November. This was the first time that tire had been mounted and it had less than 500…

CASTL ROCK RADIAL ST226 235/80R16. WHILE TRAVEL AT 65 MPH THE TIRE TREAD ON THE FRONT AXLE OF MY CAMPER CAME APART AND WHIPPED AROUND. THIS WHIPPING CAUSED MULTIPLE PUNCTURE HOLES IN THE REAR TIRE CAUSING THE REAR TIRE TO GO FLAT. THIS CAUSED DAMGAGE TO THE SKIRT OF THE CAMPER AND A DRAIN VALVE. THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED WITH THE CAMPER WHICH I BOUGHT NEW IN MAY OF 2021 AND HAVE APPROXIMATELY 4500 MILES ON THE TIRES. THE TIRES ARE CHECKED MONTHY AND ARE ALWAYS INFLATED TO 80 PSI COLD. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS AND FORTUNATELY THE TIRE THAT LOST THE TREAD STAYED INFLATED SO I COULD SAFELY GET TO THE SHOULDER TO EVALUATE THE DAMAGE. I THEN IDLED TO THE NEXT EXIT TO UNHOOK THE TRAILER S…

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: equipment, tires, structure. 79 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
