The contact owns a 2022 Forest River Vengeance RV. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the electric awning detached from the RV. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that both ends of the welded seams had detached from the electric awning. The dealer was contacted, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to reach out to NHSTA Hotline for further assistance. The failure mileage was not available. The VIN was not available.
The driver side rear leaf spring mounting bracket broke leaving the spring against the frame and allowing the 2 tires on that side to rub together. If it hadnât been noticed almost immediately failure of the 2 tires would have resulted potentially causing loss of control of the vehicle and RV. When I spoke to a local suspension shop they stated that the problem was very common and that they made that type of repair on Lippert frames often. The RV has not been inspected. When I discovered the failure I made the repair before I contacted the manufacturer. I was unaware there were multiple instances of the issue. I was informed by multiple people that Lippert was either sending someone ou…
We had a small fire in a heater duct hose for the duct in the upper bathroom. It was caused by the duct hose being in contact with the positive battery cable connection on the 2,000 Watt 120 volt Inverter located in the passthrough under the bathroom floor. The duct is made of foil and has a plastic liner. The plastic line is what was on fire, and the whole duct hose was hot, (the furnace was not being used at the time). Luckily we caught this before it got to be a larger fire, and also while we were sleeping. I reported this to Forest River, I haven't heard from them yet.
On 8/4/23 driving across Louisiana when another driver motioned for me to pull over. Upon investigation found that had the rear passenger side tire was missing. All studs were sheared and the tire and wheel was gone and never found. Had to replace the hub and put spare onto trailer to complete trip home. Major safety issue...if the last wheel on the passenger side would have failed the unit would have flipped the trailer and pull vehicle with myself wife and (2) young kids in it. The vehicle has been inspected by dealer and reported to manufacturer (Forest River) and axel manufacturer (Lippert). It has been almost 2 weeks with no answer from them. No warning at all that the wheel had le…
Well after i tried to see if there was any warranty on my fifth-wheel. I contacted BAL industries. They where very helpful. After purchasing a new landing leg with motor along with a new brain for the auto leveling system. I then calibrated all legs and tried to auto level the trailer. It actually worked. Fast forward a week later big camping trip for four days. well got to where we are camping and once again only one landing gear leg worked. the other one just make a popping noise. Mind you it was still on my truck. tried turning on and off multiple time and even rechecked each leg. They all worked but the right front. So that was a fun four days in a not so level $115,000.00 trailer. Well …

The contact owns a 2021 Forest River Vengeance. The contact stated while attempting to attach the trailer to his vehicle, the right landing gear leg extended and started to lift up, however, the left landing gear leg went inward and fractured. The vehicle then fell on the left side. The independent mechanic diagnosed that the left landing gear leg was significantly smaller than needed, causing the failure while attempting to lift the trailer. The independent mechanic replaced the left side landing gear leg however, the right landing gear leg became inoperable. It was discovered that the manufacturing plant did not cut a stress relief line in the upper deck Driver Side and in on certain models, Passenger Side under the slide room(s). The upper deck in the Impression Fifth-Wheel needs to flex, without the "stress relief cut" the sidewall filon may crack under the slide room(s).

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2013–2025, owners most often name: tires, structure, wheels. 30 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
