Improper welding on chassis frame extensions. 6 individual points for welds and insufficient and pose an extreme safety risk. National General Insurance sent out an inspector and I have a report denying my claim under insurance and calling this a manufacturer default (Chevy Chassis, Forest River Sunseeker C Class Motorhome) Reported to Chevrolet 9/25 and the say because it's out of warranty, I can submit a claim to Cost Assistance with no guarantees.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Explorer. The contact stated while driving at 60 MPH, the steering wheel locked and failed to turn. The vehicle was restarted and the steering warning message was displayed with the steering wheel continued to be locked. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,200.
The mounting bracket for the leveling system hydraulic pump dislodged from the frame - the weld broke. The hydralic reservoir tank falls to the pavement and can cause a serious accident and/or fire. I see Jayco issued a recall for the exact same issue (Bulletin #(s): 20V-780 US Units 2021-009 CN Units). Forest River has not. There are other discussions of this problem on the Forest River forums - [XXX] [XXX] There were no warnings of any kind. I am working with the manufacturer but they are saying it is our of warrany. This is a dangerous defect and should be addressed as a major saftey concern. There are 14,000+ miles on the motorhome. 2019 Forest River Sunseeker 3050s. INFORMATION…
The leveling system failed under load including bent frame brackets. The system is under engineered for the load weight of the vehicle. I have pictures of previous year leveler design and it is clear that the redesign is not sufficient to safely level the vehicle
My 2021 Chevy 4500 is an RV, anyway last September 2023. I was on a 2 1/2-week vacation driving on [XXX] near Lacy Washington and was in the middle lane moving over to the slow lane when the vehicle just stalled. I had just made it off the freeway by a few feet, I seriously thought we were going to get rear ended, especially by a truck because a majority were not moving over. They were rocking our RV as they passed us. The RV ended up starting and running good not stalling again, but it was at times difficult to start. We ended up taking it home to Mount Vernon, Washington to get it repaired. It was still under warranty, although the battery wasn't. I thought at first it was a fuel problem…
The message center displayed âService Advance Tracâ and the cruise control stopped working. Right after this event the steering wheel was no longer straight when driving straight but angled counterclockwise about 30 degrees. After this happened the warning always comes back and the cruise shuts off after starting the engine and driving a minute or two. The steering wheel has remained at the angled position when driving straight.
The contact owns a 2023 Forest River Salem Travel Trailer. The contact stated that while hauling the trailer, the trailer was veering to the driverâs side. The contact also noticed that the tread on the tires were uneven, as if the trailer was leaning to one side more than the other. The contact took the RV to the dealer and was informed that the axle on the RV was not the correct axle. The contact stated that the spacing between the wheels were also not correct. The contact stated that the defects caused the wheel to turn inwards. The dealer was made aware of the defects but failed to resolve or repair the issues or release the RV. The trailer had not been repaired. The manufacturer was m…
While performing an under vehicle safety and integrity inspection the following potential Personnel Safety item was noted. The outlet hose from the gas regulator of the on board propane tank to the vehicle distribution manifold is severely stressed and kinked due to the hose short length and restricted bend radius. The physical state of all surfaces of the hose can not be verified in the subject area. The restriction not only poses a flow concern but also accelerated cracking, and thus a fire and/ or explosion concern.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
According to Ford Recall 26V090: "Certain vehicles may have been built without the cotter pin that secures the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal, which can cause the brake booster pushrod to separate from the brake pedal. The brake booster pushrod may disconnect from the brake pedal. This can result in a loss of braking function while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. Ford has issued a âdo not drive vehicleâ order. The vehicles in this program are not to be driven until the vehicle passes the inspection or the repair has been performed."
According to Ford Recall 25V726: "On your vehicle, it may be possible to experience a noisy, partially inoperable, or completely inoperable Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) blower motor. An inoperable or partially inoperable HVAC blower motor may affect windshield defrost and defogging capability, which can decrease visibility under certain driving conditions, increasing the risk of a crash."

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
On November 23, 2020, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE20021 to investigate allegations of inoperative Trimark THP 060-1650 door lock/latches originally equipped on model years (MY) 2015-2017 Class A and Class C motorhomes.ODI received forty-six Vehicle Owner’s Questionnaires (VOQs) describing consumers being locked in or out of their vehicles. No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
