Upon auto inspection, I was informed that the subframe of the van was rotted and needed to be addressed. As the vehicle was not put into service until 2017, the van had less than 7 years on it at the time yet this bolt in member which supports the front lower control arms as well as the steering rack was severly compromised. Due to financial constraints, the member wasn't replaced until recently at which point there were multiple locations that the decay was so severe that one could fit both hands through the voids created by the rust. I spoke numerous times with Ford customer care which quoted body, not frame, rust through warranties. The cost to replace this is well over $3k and most deale…
Followup on previous complaint. Manufacturer unable to perform recall on body because of lift package. Package was installed by manufacturer. Manufacturer releasing vehicle back to consumer as unrepairable, creating a possible deadly risk to both consumer and to highways.
Ford states they are unable to repair this recall #26V061 because the van is lifted, which was a marketing strategy done by Ford on the assembly line. They want the customer to shop dealers and see if anyone can do it. Ford customer service referred problem back to customer
On going problem that's getting worse and have totally stopped driving the van. Transmission Severe Slipping, harsh and hard shifting, abrupt Highway deceleration & violent downshift while on the Hwy. Pauses sometimes to accelerate from a stop and sometimes lunges forward. Occasional "thumping" sound when driving at a consistent speed. Has not been inspected yet at the Ford dealership as we are trying to make an appointment. No warning lights or messages have come on ever. Have discovered that the 2019-2021 Transit Connections with the 8 speed transmission have had this problem documented and Ford has issued internal bulletins to their service departments about this common problem with thi…

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V111000 (Seat belts) and would like to be removed from the recall distribution list due to not having rear seats in vehicle. The local dealer and manufacturer were contacted.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly lost motive power and came to a complete stop in traffic. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was unable to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and was diagnosed with internal transmission failure involving the sleeve and cylinder of the 10-speed transmission. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by email, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
235/65R16C This vehicle was a rental. During our trip, the right rear/passenger-side rear tire repeatedly lost air pressure, requiring multiple stops to add air. The tire ultimately went completely flat at night while we were traveling on the highway with four young children in the vehicle. We were stranded along the roadway while traffic, including large semi-trucks, passed at highway speeds, creating a serious safety risk to the occupants. After the tire failed, we observed what appeared to be an existing tire plug/repair near the outer shoulder of the tread. Photographs taken during the incident show the location and condition of this area. The tire had been repeatedly losing air before…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
This bulletin supersedes 26-2309. Reason For Update: update the Model section to remove Aviator 10R80, update the Parts list to add 3.3L to W520514-S440, and add L1MZ-7Z490-G valve body separator plate for Aviator. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit at least one of the following conditions: * Harsh 3-4, 4-5 upshifts * Harsh 5-3, 4-3 downshifts * Harsh reverse engagements These symptoms may be worse when cold. This may be due to the F clutch friction plates brinelling into the clutch and planetary container cylinder (7B177).

Some 2026-2027 Transit vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B00DF:4A stored in the restraints control module (RCM) when a diagnostic self-test is performed. If there are no observable vehicle symptoms, the DTC will clear using the "Self-Test" application in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). Replacement and/or programming of the RCM is not needed to correct this condition. If there is an observable vehicle symptom and/or the DTC will not clear, follow normal Workshop Manual diagnostics.
Some 2026-2027 Transit vehicles may exhibit a "Rear Belt Monitor Fault Service Required" message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) while in transport mode. The vehicle's rear belt monitor system will operate as designed once transport mode is exited and the vehicle enters normal mode after a key cycle. This condition does not affect vehicle durability, and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this fault message at this time.

Some 2026 Transit vehicles built on or after 16-Jul-2025 may exhibit all of the following symptoms: - "No Key Detected" message displayed on the instrument panel cluster (IPC).- Key fob does not work in the backup slot. - Remote keyless entry (RKE) (lock and unlock from the key fob) functionality will work to lock/unlock the vehicle. If the vehicle exhibits these symptoms, manually enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) into the VIN entry dialog in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) and then start a session using the Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) II, VCM 3, Vehicle Communi
Some 2026 Transit vehicles may exhibit a no audio/sound condition. This may be due to the software in the audio control module (ACM). To determine if it is a software concern, disconnect the 12-volt battery cables for 10 minutes and reconnect. If the concern is still present, continue with normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 415-00 Information and Entertainment System > General Information > Diagnosis and Testing and repair as necessary outside of this article. If the no audio/sound concern is resolved, reprogram the ACM using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis an
Some 2013-2016 Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine and 2015-2019 Transit vehicles equipped with a 3.2L diesel engine may not pass a state smog test due to the exhaust gas system (EGS) monitor that will not run after completing the exhaust gas sensor drive cycle located within Section 2 of the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnostics (PC/ED) Manual > Drive Cycles. This may be due to the vehicles diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) age counter being under the 120-minute age requirement. There is an all-new "PCM Catalytic Converter Age Evaluation" application within the latest v
This bulletin supersedes 25-2415. Reason for update: To add production build dates of the right-side engine valve cover. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit oil consumption and blue smoke from the tailpipe. This may be due to the sealing process of the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) baffle which is part of the valve cover assembly.
Some 2021-2026 Ford/Lincoln vehicles may exhibit various symptoms including but not limited to the auto start/stop system not operating as intended with a "Check Charging System" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) while the charging system is operating properly with no charging related diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored. This may be due to someone using an aftermarket programmer to change the body control module (BCM) configuration to disable the auto start/stop system or perform other unsupported programming modifications. To correct this condition on F-150 and Bronco vehicles,
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: power train, unknown or other, electrical system. 1,356 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
