I have a 2024 Ford Ranger Lariat. Approximately once a month, the vehicle intermittently loses throttle response while making a turn, most often a right-hand turn but sometimes a left-hand turn. The problem generally occurs after I let off the accelerator and coast into or through an intersection. When I complete the turn and press the accelerator, there is no response from the pedal for approximately 1â2 seconds. The vehicle simply coasts with no acceleration. Then the power suddenly returns. The vehicle hesitates, makes a noise, and then accelerates. This creates a serious safety concern because it can leave me without acceleration while turning through an intersection or entering traf…
Rear Camera - Back Over Prevention - I took it to the dealer, they said there is no recall for my vehicle. It is currently available for inspection but I will need to get it fixed. Safety risk is elevated due to inability to fully see surroundings/people/children/pets, etc. behind the vehicle. The dealer saw that it is not working but I did not pay them to diagnose or inspect so they did not. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the failure. The first appearance was today, 10/7/2026 while at the dealer for an oil change.
I was driving the truck on Saturday Oct 3rd on a 55 MPH road. Slowed down to turn left at an intersection. I didn't come to a complete stop before the turn, but close to it. As soon as I started to turn left and then tried to accelerate thru the turn, there was about a 1-2 second delay when I had my foot on the gas pedal before any acceleration actually occured. Stepping on the gas was not doing anything to move the truck. This was the 2nd or 3rd time that I have experienced this with the truck... always when turning from a near stop. If there would have been a car coming at me while I was trying to turn and was closer to me, they could have hit me as I was not able to accelerate and c…
On 10/05/2026 at about 35 mph, driving on a normal street in good weather, for no apparent reason... my 2024 Ranger Raptor decided to auto change to all other driving modes, one after another (i.e. 2High then All wheel drive then 4High and then tried 4Low, all on its own. Thankfully the computer wouldn't allow it to drop into 4L without first stopping, else may have been an accident or truck damage! Also, now that this glitch has stopped (at least for the time being), at any speed below 20mph, the 4 wheel drive icon on the instrument cluster turns yellow and any speed over 30, it goes back off to normal gray. And I believe it's actually engaging 4 wheel drive, even though it still indicates …
I was driving at approximately 25 MPH and all of a sudden the truck automatically went into 4 wheel drive low which altered my ability to keep up with traffic and caused me to pull over to figure out why. I had to restart my truck to get it out of 4 wheel drive. This has happened approximately 5 times and fortunately at low speeds. I have not taken it to the dealer because it is an intermittent problem. I have read that it is a common problem with this truck and the dealer can't find the issue because it is intermittent. I was nearly rear ended because the truck slowed way down when it went. into 4 wheel drive. I think it is unsafe and startling when it happens and unexpected.
Supposedly, Ford knows that the 10-speed transmission has problems and they have done stuff for the F-150 models, but they aren't doing nothing for the Ranger models. Transmission slips and eventually fails causing a very expensive replacement
When the fuel tank gets to 1/2 tank while making left hand turns, the accelerator pedal becomes unresponsive for 2 - 5 seconds. As the tank gets lower, the problem is more pronounced.
truck goes in and out of 4wd high while driving, even though the selector dial is in 2wd.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
On September 23, 2020, Ford Motor Company (Ford) filed a noncompliance recall report under 49 CFR Part 573 (NHTSA Recall No. 20V-575), recalling 620,246 Model Year (MY) 2020 Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, Explorer, Mustang, Transit, Expedition, Escape, Ranger and Edge, and Lincoln Nautilus and Corsair vehicles for a noncompliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 111, Rear Visibility. No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
