What Ford Maverick owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Ford Maverick safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH, the engine light turned on and off and then several unknown warning lights illuminated and the vehicle abruptly decelerated. The driver pulled over, and the vehicle was restarted. The vehicle was then driven 20 MPH. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, and it was determined the failure was caused by the calipers and a software update. The dealer informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.
Customer Concern â Highway-Speed Vibration There is a noticeable, consistent vibration that begins at approximately 50 MPH and above and becomes most prevalent around 60 MPH. The vibration is present while maintaining a steady speed and does not appear to be related to acceleration or throttle input. The truck continues to track straight and does not noticeably pull to either side. There is also a slight rhythmic âdoot-doot-dootâ type noise noticeable at highway speeds when the radio is off. The rhythm appears to remain fairly constant rather than speeding up or slowing down.
On May 27,2026, While flat towing the Maverick in Tow Neutral behind our motorhome, on the freeway, we were flagged down by a good Samaritan who urged us to exit the freeway immediately. My husband exited the freeway and found a safe place to park. I exited the motorhome to find fire emanating from all four wheels. The calipers were orange/red in color, fire was shooting from each wheel. The engine was so hot I suspected it would blow. I retrieved a fire extinguisher from the motorhome and deployed it extinguishing each wheel stopping the fire. An inspection by top level engineers and specialist inspected the vehicle to determine the root cause of the fire to no avail, results Inconclusive…
The contact owns a 2026 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while reversing, the rear sensors failed to function as intended and the vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle. The contact stated that it was dark outside and raining during the failure. The contact was not sure if the rear-view camera was operable. The failure mileage was approximately 3,900.
Engine long block assembly needed replacement. TPMS continues to fail. Axles make vehicle shake when going freeway speeds.
While driving, the dashboard very quickly flashed the words "Charging System Service Soon" so fast I almost couldn't read it. Normally messages remain on the screen until I acknowledge them, but this was not the case. This happened at least 3 times within 30 minutes. When I got home, I parked and turned off the car. When I needed to turn the car back on shortly after, the vehicle would not turn on. I was able to get it jump started and immediately drove it to the Ford Service Center. The tech notes indicated: "Found SSM for concern. Required some module updates. During update, the PCM bricked due to low power. Through nearly 7 hours of testing, found the soldered connection of the main batt…

Some 2022-2024 Maverick hybrid vehicles may exhibit various electrical symptoms and/or a no crank/no start condition related to an intermittent 12V battery drain that has discharged the 12V battery. This may be due to the software in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. To correct this condition, download and run the "ABS - Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module Software Update" and "ACCM - Air Conditioning Control Module (ACCM) Software Update" applications using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2022–2026, owners most often name: power train, electrical system, engine. 1,196 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
