Failed Component & Availability for Inspection: The Bosch CP4 high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) failed internally, shedding metallic debris throughout the entire fuel system. This matches the exact defect in NHTSA Recall 24V-957 and Ford Safety Recalls 24S78 and 26S17. The failing CP4 pump and eight injectors were replaced on 03/14/2026 (Eastpointe Invoice #5997) due to contamination. The truck is located at Bob Maxey Ford in Detroit, MI, and is available for inspection alongside work orders from an authorized Ford dealership and two independent facilities. Safety Risk: The failure caused an abrupt, total loss of motive power on an active highway off-ramp, followed by an immediate no-start st…
Going 60 to 70 miles per hour on I81 front end experienced uncontrollable wobbling not able to control truck had to slow down to stop vibrations. Occurred 3 times in a row almost rear ended by tractor trailer trucks as they could not tell we were having problems as we slowed down. Placing our flashing lights on was not enough notice to the large trucks
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-350 SD. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The engine seized, and the vehicle was pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with high-pressure fuel pump failure. The contact was informed that the high-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. In addition, the contact was informed that a repair request had been submitted to the manufacturer; however, the request was denied. The contact was informed that the fa…
On 09-25-2026 I was changing the fuel filters on my truck when i noticed metal shavings in the bottom of the fuel filter. Immediatey contacted Norman's Auto & Diesel Repair and i had the truck towed to Norman's. The CP4 fuel pump was failing, they converted to the DCR fuel pump. The truck only has 71,234 miles on it and this problem cost me over 4,000.00 dollars. All Ford 6.7 diesel from 2011 to 2026 should be recalled. This is a problem that Ford has been knowing about since 2011. INVOICE #018016
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-350 SD. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power. Upon further investigation, the contact became aware that there was water accumulated in the battery junction box. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed, and the failure was confirmed as water accumulation in the battery junction box. An appointment for the repair was scheduled with the local dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
My 2019 Ford F350 fully power stroke deisel super duty started making a terrible grinding and grinding noise when I let off the accelerator. Thereâs specifically fluid leaking from rear axle in the center where the drive shaft meets the heavy duty Dana M300 axle. And all over the inside rear passenger tire. Thereâs a burnt gear oil smell coming from the truck as a result and the truck canât be driven .
While driving a 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty Dually (6.7L Power Stroke) at highway speeds while towing a horse trailer containing live animals, a sudden and catastrophic failure of the secondary fuel filter occurred. The driver noticed a severe and sudden drop in fuel economy, accompanied by a strong diesel odor inside the cabin.Upon arriving safely at our destination, an inspection of the engine compartment revealed that the top plastic cap of the OEM secondary fuel filter housing had completely cracked right in the top middle. Diesel fuel was actively spraying out under extreme low-pressure system pressure (approximately 8.5 bar) all over the hot engine compartment. The pressurized diesel fue…
The trailer light control module is intermittently causing trailer light faults messages and signal failures. This is associated to recall 26C10. The software update doesnât correct the problem. Ford does not have the hardware on hand to replace the failing part. This is a safety issue for us who are on the road towing travel trailers.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
For 20202026 vehicles equipped with the 10R140 transmission, a new Transmission Clutch Circuit Leak Test has been introduced in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). This test utilizes the pressure and vacuum transducer (PVT) when available. Workshop Manual (WSM) updates related to this diagnostic procedure are planned for release in Q4 2026. The new test improves the accuracy of detecting leaks within transmission fluid circuits and replaces the previous air check method. The previous air check procedure has been shown to produce a high rate of false positives, which may lead to unn

Some 2024-2026 F-150, 2025 Explorer/Aviator, 2025-2026 Expedition/Navigator, or 2026 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U211B:43:48 stored in the body control module (BCM) when performing a Self-Test. This DTC sets due to an internal BCM timing issue during the self-test process. This specific code has no customer impact and does not cause any drivability concerns or warning messages. Clearing DTC U211B:43:48, reprogramming the BCM, or replacing the BCM is unlikely to prevent this DTC from setting. This DTC does not trigger a condition covered under warranty. Note:

For Various Ford and Lincoln vehicles, if diagnostics lead to the replacement of the front seat cushion cover J-clips, lower-level service parts are now available. Use service part W709919-S901 if the J-clip is completely detached from the seat cover and W715386-S424 if the clip is still partially attached. It is not necessary to replace the seat cover if only the J-clip is separating from the cover. NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
The Office of Defect Investigations (ODI) has received 27 complaints alleging diesel fuel leaks due to a fracture in the secondary fuel filter housing in model year (MY) 2015-2021 Ford Motor Company (Ford) F-250, 350, 450, and 550 Super Duty vehicles equipped with 6.7L diesel engines. Of these complaints, 12 describe an engine compartment fire. The proximity of the secondary fuel filter to high heat sources creates a potential for autoignition thermal events and fires. ODI has contacted the vehi

In January 2021, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened a Recall Query (RQ21-001) to assess allegations of post-recall remedy uncommanded tailgate openings in model year (MY) 2017-2019 F-250/350/450 Ford trucks. Besides the recall remedy launched in January 2020, Ford also implemented a production update in November 2019. At the time of the RQ opening, ODI had received eleven (11) Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQs). ODI sent an Information Request (IR) to Ford in February 2021. In n

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this RQ to investigate allegations that the scope and remedy of safety recall 13V-535 were inadequate. Recall 13V-535 was limited to a relatively small population of Ambulance Package vehicles and ODI received complaints of pickup trucks and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles being affected by the same defect. Ford manufactured approximately 555,985 subject vehicles between February 22, 2010 and January 30, 2015 that may be affected by defective EG
Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: steering, suspension, unknown or other. 2,767 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
