What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Yes How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Yes: While driving on [XXX] at highway speed, my vehicle suddenly began to swerve, causing a significant loss of steering control and creating an unsafe driving condition. Concerned that I had experienced a flat tire, I immediately pulled over to inspect the vehicle. Upon inspection, I found that none of the tires were flat. Believing it was unsafe to continue at normal speed, I proceeded cautiously and drove the vehicle slowly to my service center for diagnosis. After examining the vehicle, the service center informed me that the ra…
I was driving down the highway, and I heard what sounded as if something had fallen on vehicle and cracked my window. However, there wasn't anything, so I got out of the car and saw that my B pillar trim had come off and was hanging down by the wires on the driver side of vehicle. This was very frightening as this could have resulted in an accident due to this piece falling apart on the side of the car.
The back up camera is cloudy with very limited visibility at night. My safety is at risk backing the car up. Yes available for inspection. I have told the dealer. I am unsure if they actually looked at it at night. This issue has been happening for a few years and now it is much worse. I learned of this sight to report it to. There are no lights or warning lamps.

Some 2024-2026 F-150, 2025 Explorer/Aviator, 2025-2026 Expedition/Navigator, or 2026 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U211B:43:48 stored in the body control module (BCM) when performing a Self-Test. This DTC sets due to an internal BCM timing issue during the self-test process. This specific code has no customer impact and does not cause any drivability concerns or warning messages. Clearing DTC U211B:43:48, reprogramming the BCM, or replacing the BCM is unlikely to prevent this DTC from setting. This DTC does not trigger a condition covered under warranty. Note:
This bulletin supersedes 26-2309. Reason For Update: update the Model section to remove Aviator 10R80, update the Parts list to add 3.3L to W520514-S440, and add L1MZ-7Z490-G valve body separator plate for Aviator. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit at least one of the following conditions: * Harsh 3-4, 4-5 upshifts * Harsh 5-3, 4-3 downshifts * Harsh reverse engagements These symptoms may be worse when cold. This may be due to the F clutch friction plates brinelling into the clutch and planetary container cylinder (7B177).
Some 2026 Explorer vehicles may exhibit wind noise and/or water intrusion from the panoramic roof panel glass seal. Inspection may find that the seal is rolled or separated from the glass. The seal is not serviceable separately from the glass. To correct this condition, replace the panoramic roof panel glass assembly. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 501-11 > Removal and Installation > Panoramic Roof Panel Glass. For claiming, use causal part 78500A18 and labor operation 50282BG.
This article supersedes TSB 25-2373 to update a print error on publication. Some vehicles listed in the model statement above may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) C00A6 and/or C0631. This may be due to the front axle disconnect actuator/intermediate shaft.
Some 2025 Aviator/Explorer/Police Interceptor Utility vehicles may exhibit a "Steering Assist Fault Service Required" message and diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) C1110:56 and/or U3000:96 stored in the power steering control module (PSCM) after programming. This may be due to a calibration mismatch in the PSCM which has been resolved in the Ford database. If DTC C1110:56 is stored in a replacement PSCM after completing programmable module installation (PMI), start a new session using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool then run the "PSCM - Program

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: steering, structure, unknown or other. 15,311 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
