What Fccc XCM owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Fccc XCM safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

The contact owns a 2021 Freightliner XC-M chassis. The contact stated that the instrument cluster had become delaminated, making the display difficult to read. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.
Defect: On Freightliner Custom Chassis diesel motorhomes the entire instrument cluster is a single all-digital "OptiView" LCD (Medallion 12.3", part 66-02439-000). The factory adhesive bonding the cover glass to the LCD delaminates under normal service, spreading bubbles and haze across the screen. It is widely reported across many coach brands on this chassis (Newmar, Tiffin, Coachmen, Winnebago, Entegra, American Coach) and occurs in cold climates as well as hot - an inherent material defect, not misuse. Safety risk: OptiView puts every primary driving indicator on one screen with no analog backup, so delamination obscures safety-critical information while driving: - Speedometer/tachomete…
The contact owns a 2018 Freightliner XC-R Raised Rail Rear Engine Motor Home Chassis. The contact stated that while in reverse(R), the rear wheels were moving in the opposite direction other than what was intended. Due to the failure, the contact needed assistance from another person outside the RV to safely maneuver the RV while reversing into a parking spot. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was instructed to drop the tag axle which would lift the weight off the axle, allowing the RV to operate as needed while in reverse(R). Despite the manufacturer's instructions, the failure persisted. The RV was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately …
The dashboard on this has turned a very bright LIME GREEN. It is very hard to drive this at night because it is severely blinding to see the road. I have contacted Freightliner and Winnebago and I keep getting the run around. This happened when this was still under warrantee and I have been trying to get someone to help me.
The contact owns a 2022 Freightliner X Line Motorhome. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the TPMS alerted him that the tire pressure was higher than 120 PSI due to heat temperature. The RV was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer informed the contact that they did not have the equipment to reprogram the TPMS. The RV was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the RV to a Freightliner dealer where he had to pay out-of-pocket for the TPMS reprogramming. The failure mileage was approximately 775.
The contact owns a 2018 FREIGHTLINER XCM. The contact stated that the valve stem stabilizers on the driverâs and passengerâs side rear tires would dislodge without warning. The contact stated that each time he noticed that the valve stems had dislodged, he would manually adjust the valve stem stabilizers back in place. The contact had taken his motorhome to a dealer for a separate issue and was informed of a recall for NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V194000 (Tires) which was linked to the valve stem stabilizer failure. Upon leaving the dealer, the contact was informed that the recall was performed; however, the contact noticed that the valve stems were dislodged again once he returned home. Ov…

Revised Emissions Recall: Cummins DEF Sensor Shortage. REVISION: Some vehicles formerly in Group F have been moved to Group G and have been assigned a new part number as specified in Table 1. An SRT for 'Calibration Code Only: Update or Confirm' has been added, as shown in Table 2, to be used when a new DEF header is not required. There have been some other minor changes to the work instructions and SRT times.
Emissions Recall: Cummins DEF Sensor Shortage
FCCC X-Line chassis, equipped with a certain rear mounted Power Distribution Module (PDM), may experience cracked internal solder joints, which after a period of vehicle use may lead to intermittent open circuits, in which the rear marker lights, brake lights, or left turn signal lights may not function. Brake lights that do not function correctly may not notify motorists of a braking event, which may lead to an increase risk of crash. A secondary fused harness will be added which bypasses the affected suspect portion of the PDM. Repairs will be performed by Daimler Trucks North America autho

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
On April 23, 2018, the National Highway Traï¬c Safety Administration (âNHTSAâ) opened Audit Query (AQ18002) to assess the timeliness and scope of four recalls ï¬led by Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (âDTNAâ). NHTSA subsequently expanded AQ18002 to examine the timeliness and scope of three additional DTNA recalls and compliance with early warning reporting and manufacturer communications reporting requirements. NHTSA and DTNA entered into a Consent Order on December 29, 2020, to reso
Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2025, owners most often name: electrical system, structure, tires. 11 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
