The vehicle systems named most often in Entegra Cornerstone complaints (one complaint can name several).
In the owners’ own words, as filed with NHTSA. Unverified reports; NHTSA removes personal details before publishing.
Traveling at highway speeds, engine running at approximately 1,700 RPM without warning, a catastrophic engine failure occurred. Piston connection rod appears to have failed, causing both sides of engine block and oil pan to be destroyed, dumping oil and coolant onto roadway. Cummins ISX15 diesel engine. This dropped large pieces of engine block and debris all over the road causing a danger to other drivers. Because of the travel speed and complete loss of engine power (Red Stop Engine Light) with no warning, vehicle was difficult to control steering and safely getting to side of road. This vehicle was 7 years old, however only had 23,000+/- mile on it. The Stop Engine Light and warning …
The contact owns a 2022 Entegra Cornerstone hauled by a 2022 Spartan Motorhome. The contact stated that while traveling at 59 MPH, the tire pressure monitoring screen indicated that one of the outer passengerâs side rear tires needed service. The contact took the vehicle to National Indoor RV Centers (11280 N Solar Canyon Way, Surprise, AZ 85379) for service. In spite of the service repair, the failure remained. The manufacturer was then notified of the failure and referred him to Velocity Truck Centers â Tolleson (9899 W Roosevelt St, Tolleson, AZ 853530 for assistance. In spite of the referral, the tire pressure monitoring system for the passengerâs side rear outer tire remained defe…
While driving across Florida, the âCheck Engineâ light and first of three DEF Head âService Codesâ on our 2018 Entegra Cornerstone 45â RV came on, indicating that our Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system had an issue. From previous social media posts from other Entegra Owners, we immediately contacted the chassis manufacturer, Spartan. They requested that we contact Cummins-Orlando, FL for a DEF Head replacement. Cummins-Orlando said they couldnât get us in for three weeks, which wasnât an option, as we were traveling and couldnât wait three weeks. We contacted Cummins-Tampa, FL and Cummins-Jacksonville, FL, with both stating 2-3 weeks to get us in. By this time, the second of …
The contact owns a 2017 Spartan Entegra Cornerstone RV. The contact stated while starting the RV to leave a campsite, he became aware that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer who inspected the vehicle and diagnosed the failure as a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) system sensor head that needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the sensor system however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and the sensor was replaced again. The contact was concerned that the failure would recur. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
Def head sensor failure causing an unsafe derate condition. The rv will only go 5mph causing me to not be able to get to a safe location. As i understand the engine and def system are functioning as they should but the malfunctioning sensor has caused the engine to shut down or derate to 5mph.
Vehicle has approximately 30,800 miles. A check engine light with error codes SPN: 3364, 1761, 3331 indicating a failure of the DEF ( diesel exhaust fluid) sensor. This results in a degrade in performance to a point of engine shutdown. Replacement parts are very hard to obtain because this error is so common.
DEF sensor failed twice. Potential engine derate or shut down. Problem well known to chassis manufacturer. Failure announced by Check Engine Light and three well known codes. Time or distance to derate/shutdown is unknown, and consequently could result in a large motor home stopped on the road.
Shortly after starting the engine a âCHECK ENGINEâ warning appeared on the warning system. I went through diagnostics and found 3 codes relating to DEF head failure. There have been a large number of these in Entegra Coach motor homes in the last 6-12 months.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: engine, fuel/propulsion system, structure. 14 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
