Cracked Frame. Visual inspection. The frame is Steel. Frame is cracked at weld and across the vertical beam surface. If the frame cracks all the way the trailer could break away from tow vehicle without the hitch becoming disconnected. The left side the frame has a crack all the way across, the right side it is only about 1.5 inch.

The manufacturer is aware of frame defects, including cracks, incomplete, welds, poor-quality, welds, and missing welds. On DRV manufactured fifth wheels from approximately 2014 to current having a frame fail going down the road can cause catastrophic consequences. There needs to be a full-blown investigation and a safety recall for these defects immediately and not leave it to the owners to discover the frame failing after the fact.

I have had four tires come apart since we purchased this RV. All four times it has been the right front tire. The RV is a double axle with the MORryde independent suspension. I had the tire come apart this past Sunday without warning forcing me to the side of the Freeway. The tire damaged the side of the camper. When taking the tire off I noticed the brake pad was not in its proper location, It was falling out of the caliper and the brake caliper was also extremely loose. I couldn't find any mobile service company on a Sunday evening, so, I had to remove the caliper, remove the brake pad and reinstall the caliper without the pad. The caliper clips were bent out of shape allowing the caliper …

The contact owns a 2021 DRV All Aluminum Trailer. The contact stated he was an independent mechanic, and while he was rotating the tires, he noticed that the upper side of the brake caliper was missing the clips. The contact stated that he attempted to install new clips on the brake caliper; however, the clips failed to tighten because the brake caliper bracket was fractured. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V733000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact stated that the recall remedy did not include the replacement of the brake caliper bracket. The manufacturer referred the contact to the dealer for …

Driving along I-40, 15 miles West of Winslow Arizona, the tire pressure monitor system had a sudden temperature increase on one tire and then all of a sudden boom, the tire blew out. I slowed down and took the next exit ramp, approximately 400 yards, I began to investigate and noticed that the brake caliper had come loose and wedged on the inside of the rim. This caused friction between the caliper and rim and that is where the excess heat came from. The bleeder valve was also damaged and leaking brake fluid and rendered the trailer brakes ineffective. The brake system is held into place by two flimsy metal tabs that become bent during normal use of the braking system. I believe this t…

the brake caliper retaining clips bent and aloud the brake caliper to come loose and ride up and come in contact with the tire rim and grind it and cause the tire to blow out. there is a recall on these retaining clips and they were replaced by myself in 11/ 2021 then replaced again by DRV the manufacturer of the rv in 01/2022 .Now it has happened again on the same axle 10/2022. yes this was inspected by the RV manufacturer in January of 2022 but has not been adressed this time as of yet. this is a major safety issue no braking on that wheel plus tire blow out. there are no warning sign as to this happening. the only warning possible is if you have a tire pressure monitering system and it sh…

I heard a scraping noise coming from the passenger right front axle. I jacked up the camper and the right front wheel would spin forward but not backwards. It made a scraping or grinding noise when spinning the tire. We called a mobile technician and he first discovered that the caliper brackets were bent allowing the caliper to move around and had lightly scraped the inside of the aluminum wheel. Second thing the mobile technician discovered was the rotor was not bolted tight to the hub assembly. He found that several bolts were missing and the ones that were left were all loose. His comment was we would not have made it to our next destination. He said if we hadn't noticed this and the bra…

BRAKE FAILURE SECONDARY TO BRAKE HOSE TO RV WHEEL CYLINDER LOSING FLUID BECAUSE BRAKE HOSE RUBBED AGAINST FRAME UNTIL IT FAILED. THIS RESULTED IN LOSS OF BRAKES WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP AT A CITY STREET LIGHT. I FOUND THAT SEVERAL OF THE 5 OTHER HOSES SHOWED SIGNS OF PENDING FAILURE SECONDARILY TO RUBBING AGAINST FRAME. THESE UNITS ALOS HAVE A POTENTIAL FOR CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE IF TIRE BLOWS AS LINES ARE EXPOSED.

Questions

What are the most common Drv Full House problems?

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2015–2022, owners most often name: service brakes, structure, suspension. 10 complaints are on record.

Is a complaint or a TSB the same as a recall?

No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.

How do I report a problem with my Drv Full House?

File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
