WHILE DRIVING CAR A MESSAGE APPEARS ON DASH THAT SAYS PARK SAFELY, VEHICLE WILL SHUT DOWN SOON. THE CAR STOPPEDIN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER MESSAGE APPEARED WITH NO TIME TO PULL OVER OR PARK. IF I WAS ON HIGHWAY I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED.
The contact owns a 2021 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V198000 (Air Bags); however, the dealer failed to reassemble the parts correctly during the repair. The manufacturer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,700.
The center read ârace trackâ light has water intrusion which will short the circuit and there is no way to drain or dry the light. It appears to be a widespread issue based on what Iâve seen online similar to the Durango.
I am submitting this complaint regarding a recurring right turn signal malfunction on my 2022 Dodge Charger SXT, VIN [XXX]. The vehicle is experiencing a failure involving the right turn signal. This is concerning because the turn signal is required safety equipment used to communicate turns and lane changes to other motorists. When the signal is not functioning properly, other drivers may not receive adequate warning of the vehicleâs intended movement, increasing the risk of a collision. I am particularly concerned that this may not be an isolated failure. I have observed numerous reports from other Dodge Charger owners describing similar turn signal problems. The apparent pattern raise…
The vehicles center screen periodically will freeze randomly, often when first turning the vehicle on. Often, I am reversing the vehicle in this situation and screen will show a frozen image of the back-up camera or the back-up camera will not be available at all.
I purchased this 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona new on March 24, 2026. Shortly after purchase, the vehicle began experiencing repeated serious safety-related electrical and propulsion failures. The most concerning incidents involve sudden loss of propulsion/power while driving. On one occasion, the vehicle lost propulsion while I was traveling on the freeway, leaving me in active traffic unable to accelerate normally and creating a serious risk of a collision. I also experienced an incident involving abnormal/unintended acceleration where I did not have normal control over the vehicle's acceleration, creating an additional safety concern. The vehicle has also failed to start, displayed Service E…
The Chapman Dodge service department has diagnosed the vehicle with an active, leaking fuel pump assembly and provided a repair estimate of $1,600.00. Stellantis Corporate has offered a "goodwill" gesture of only $200.00, leaving me with a $1,400.00 out-of-pocket bill. I have formally rejected this baseline offer. An active fuel leak on a 485-horsepower performance vehicle is an immediate, catastrophic fire hazard. A fuel pump module is a lifetime structural componentânot a wear-and-tear itemâand a complete material failure at 41,000 miles is an egregious manufacturing defect. Furthermore, because this vehicle is well under the 5-year/60,000-mile mark, it should be heavily considered unde…
This vehicle has active driving assist safety failure. At highway speeds on right turns the system offers absolutely no detectable steering wheel assistance to keep the vehicle in the lane. If the driver does not keep the vehicle in the lane the system will let the vehicle veer into the next lane to the left. after entering that lane about half way the active lane assist will vibrate steering wheel indicating the vehicle has left the lane, but will not provide any assistance to the steering wheel. The vehicle has been this way since new and now has 2500 miles. The vehicle was brought to Chrysler dealer who stated all sensors check out fine and the system is working fine. The system is not w…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: electrical system, engine, air bags. 3,201 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
