What Dodge Challenger owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Dodge Challenger safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

Started a month ago and it's getting worse. When I put my car in park and then take my foot off the brake rather the car is still on or off the car moves. It's an obvious movement and that is when I'm parked on level cement driveway it rolls about a foot as of today. So times It scare me and I physically hit the brakes to stop it. I have an automatic transmission with option of manual drive. I have a 2023 dodge challenger vin [XXX]. As of today I have not got into a accident because of it or hit anyone or anything. I noticed there is a recall on the car but it hasn't pulled up with my vin number and I wanted to report it before It rolls away in park and hit another car or person. There are n…
The contact owns a 2023 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that the instrument cluster cover had cracked twice in the center and in the right corners. The vehicle was initially repaired under warranty; however, the failure reoccurred within several months. The dealer had since refused to perform a secondary warranty repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and suggested visiting a dealer in another state and the owner declined due to the inconvenience. The failure mileage was 29,851.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power, the check engine warning light illuminated, and an abnormal burning odor was coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The local dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V435000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 189,373.
I am filing a formal complaint regarding a premature, dangerous failure of the AC evaporator core on my 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T. The vehicle has only 22,000 original miles. An authorized service facility diagnosed the issue and confirmed that the evaporator core has suffered a complete internal failure and leak. This component is supposed to last the lifetime of the vehicle, and its premature failure at such low mileage points to a severe manufacturing, design, or material defect by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA/Stellantis).This defect presents two distinct, immediate safety hazards to vehicle occupants:SEVERE VISIBILITY HAZARD / DEFROST FAILURE: Because the AC evaporator removes moisture …
ABS control module failure resulting in no ABS brakes , traction control or ESP
The Uconnect HMI/touchscreen in my 2018 Dodge Challenger has visibly delaminated and developed severe phantom touch inputs. When powered on, the screen registers commands without any physical contact. The failed touchscreen remains installed and available for inspection. The vehicle has approximately 19,600 miles. This creates a significant driver distraction and safety risk while driving because the touchscreen repeatedly activates functions and changes settings without my input, including HVAC controls, fan speed, camera activation, audio sources/stations, menus, and other touchscreen-controlled features. Because the system is actively issuing unintended commands, I must look away from the…
Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) I have two children and the vehicle has left me stranded about a dozen times because it will not even start. Upon research, this faulty part can also cause the vehicle to just stall at highway speeds. I have taken it to a 3rd-party mechanic, a Dodge dealership, contacted my 3rd-party warranty company, and called Chrysler Customer Care. Nobody can source the part needed because it is no longer manufactured. Stellantis' recommendation was to trade it in and pawn it off on someone else. It has popped about 10-15 CEL's while just driving down the road. Nobody can source the part and rebuilders will not touch it. No remediation or offer to make this …
The manufacturer's label under the hood states only add 134y refrigerant to the cooling system but the service port is not the correct size. I bought an adapter and added the 134a refrigerant and my cars cooling system isn't working correctly and my car ran hot as well as I had to replace a temperature sensor. After doing research others have had this issue because the system is made for r1234yf refrigerant.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2023, owners most often name: electrical system, engine, air bags. 1,551 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
