What Coachmen Sportscoach owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Coachmen Sportscoach safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

The contact owns a 2022 Coachmen Sportscoach 354QS built on the chassis of a 2023 Freightliner XC-S motorhome chassis. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was play in the steering wheel. Upon inspection of the steering wheel shaft, the contact discovered the bolt had mild rust and was loose on the end. The vehicle was not diagnosed by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact tightened the loose bolt. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,101.
The contact owns a 2021 Coachmen Sportscoach built on a 2021 Freightliner XC-S Chassis. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument panel became inoperable and turned blank. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the Viper module had failed and needed to be replaced. The RV was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
This incident happened to a 2024 Coachmen Sportscoach SRS339DS (also called model S1A339DS) motor home (RV) built on a Freightliner XCS chassis. Under the specific circumstances surrounding the actual component failure incident, no safety hazard existed--but under different circumstances, failure of the same component could result in a safety hazard with potentially catastrophic consequences. The component that failed was the chassis battery disconnect switch, which was installed on the chassis by the RV builder's (final stage manufacturer) chassis preparation division. The failed component is a BEP Marine battery switch (part number unavailable at the time of this report). The resulting con…
The front display screen has started to delaminate, causing bubbles to appear and blocking the view of the instrument panel. You can not see your speed or any other information on the display.
The contact owns a 2021 Coachman Sportscoach. The contact stated that while driving an abnormal noise was heard coming from the rear wheels. The selling dealer was contacted and stated that the issue was a Freightliner issue. The vehicle was taken to a Freightliner dealer that did not diagnose the failure. The contact stated that the failure continued. The recreational vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as the brake drums and the S-cam. The recreational vehicle was repaired. The manufacturers' Coachman and Freightliner were notified of the failure. The contact stated that a case was opened with Freightliner who advised that the brakes were not covered unde…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
This is a product service bulletin from Global Link concerning counterfeit keys for entry doors being sold on certain websites. Forest River is reporting as we are sharing with the dealer body.
According to a Furrion TSB "TB-220919": Irregular cooling performance has been reported on the identified refrigerators. The refrigerator compressor has been found to stop working and requires a ÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂhard resetÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂàby disconnecting power to reset cooling operation. On occasion, disconnecting power does not reset operation and the refrigerator requires service replacement of the control boards. This TSB may not be applicable for some vehicles.
According to DTNA Recall 23V259: "On the affected vehicles, the steer axle tie rod castle nut cotter pin may be missing, allowing the steering arm to detach. This could lead to a loss of steering response and a lack of direction control, increasing the risk of a crash. The driver may experience some additional free-play in the steering and/or feel an improper steering alignment."
According to DTNA Recall FL970/23V238: "The steer axle tie rod castle nut cotter-pin on the affected vehicles may be missing. This may cause the castle nut to back off, which might allow taper-end to displace from the steering arm. This could lead to a loss of steering response and a lack of direction control, potentially increasing the risk of a crash."
As per Lippert's TSB 85-001-2022: There is a potential for some of the Gen1 jack legs on motorized units to bend or deform under extreme side loads.
PER DTNA Recall 22V554; "Your engine is equipped with an Engine Control Module (ECM) that may have a manufacturing defect that could result in an engine stall without warning. An unexpected engine stall without the ability to restart the engine may lead to an increased risk of a crash."
Per DTNA Recall 22V379 - On certain vehicles and under certain circumstances, the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may display incorrect information such as maximum temperature and tire pressure, and/or a message that the tires are under or over-inflated. The TPMS controller will be updated with new software, and certain units will require a longer antenna-mounting bracket to extend the rear antenna downward.
Per Daimler Truck North America's Campaign Number "SF644A-C": On certain vehicles and under certain circumstances, the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may display incorrect information such as maximum temperature and tire pressure, and/or a message that the tires are under or over-inflated. The TPMS controller will be updated with new software, and certain units will require a longer antenna-mounting bracket to extend the rear antenna downward.

Per DTNA recall FL888 21V369 and 21V370; The tie rod clamp may be loose due to the supplied lock nuts being over-crimped. This can cause thread galling of the bolt and nut during installation. When galling occurs, it is possible that assembly torque may be achieved but the clamp is still loose. The tie rod clamp being loose could lead to the threaded tie rod ends becoming loose and eventual steering loss if the rod end pulls out of the tie rod, or the tube is broken due to vibration of the loose joint, creating the risk of crash.
Damage to the tireâÃÂÃÂs valve stem may lead to loss of air pressure, which, if unnoticed, could lead to a flat tire or on dual-wheels an overloaded tire. In extreme situations, rapid loss of tire pressure could increase the risk of a crash. Operators may identify an audible rattling noise from the stem extension rubbing against the wheel opening while driving. Visual inspection during inspection or during maintenance may reveal stabilizer is dislocated, damage to the stem extension, or the rim, and low tire pressure of the inner tire.
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA), on behalf of its wholly owned subsidiary, Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation, is initiating Field Service Campaign SF637A to modify specific model year 2021 Freightliner Custom Chassis manufactured September 17, 2019 through April 7, 2021. In a low voltage condition, the IP display may not come on when turning on ignition leaving drivers without a functioning instrument panel. This would only occur at startup and the instrument panel would function again if the key is cycled with normal voltage. The software will be updated to resolve the issue.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2016–2024, owners most often name: electrical system, service brakes, steering. 5 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
