I, the complainant, own a 2018 Coachmen Galleria, a recreational vehicle (RV) outfitted on a 2017 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 3500 van. Coachmen Galleria outfitted the van with a water tank, attached to the underside. On 7/28/2023, while driving approx. 25 mph, I had to brake abruptly, due to an animal crossing the road. I then heard a sound coming from underneath the RV and a scraping noise when I took my foot off the brake. I discovered that the water tank had fallen to the ground. I took the RV to an independent mechanic, and the water tank was firmly re-attached. Below, I will cover very briefly the form questions: * The water tank collapsed to the ground due to inadequate support. Co…

High altitude power loss. At around 8000' elevation, 60 degrees F. Engine was turned off for around 3 hours, started normally, idle normal, shifted into reverse and there was no power. It barely crept out of level parking place with accelerator floored. Engine continued to run smoothly but no power. I was half in the parking spot, half in the street and couldn't move forward or reverse. No warning lights prior / during / or after the problem. Approximately 4500 miles on van. Note - vehicle put into 4x4 low range in attempt to use the extra gearing to move back into parking lot out of the street - this worked at a very slow pace. After multiple attempts to move, about 5 minutes total - it sta…

The routing of the main wiring harness might contact the drive shaft and chafe, which could result in a short circuit, loss of drive power, power steering, and brake control system. A short circuit increases the risk of a fire, and a loss of drive power, power steering, and brake system control increases the risk of a crash. This is in reference to Mercedes-Benz Recall Campaign 24V166.
The battery boost cable is connected to a chassis lug provided by Mercedes. The 12V wiring will be routed to a new lug.

As per recall 23V100. Mercedes-Benz AG (ÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂMBAGÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain Sprinter (907 platform) vehicles, the fuse layout of the interior blower motor might not meet the requirements for prolonged operation at the highest blower setting. Influenced by certain premises, such as ambient and assembly space temperatures as well as usage, this could lead to an increase of the transitional resistance between fuse and fuse holder and thus, to a limit-exceeding heat development in the area of the fuse hol
According to the Interim Recall Notice Received by Mercedes-Benz concerning 22V796: "Mercedes-Benz AG has determined that on certain Sprinter vehicles, a component of the park lock system might wear extraordinarily due to specific driver parking practices and impair safe parking of the vehicle. If the vehicle is not properly secured in accordance with parking instructions in the operator's manual (including usage of the parking brake), it cannot be ruled out that the vehicle might roll away from its parked position under certain circumstances. Thus, the risk of an accident could increase. The

No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
