Under safety recall 73B, for which I had the software update done last year (nothing noted by the dealer). I have since had intermittent check engine light issues, and even had the vehicle completely shut off last winter for 10 minutes in the middle of the road. It subsequently turned on, and when brought in I was told there were no "current codes" in the system to investigate. I've now had check engine light on steady for a couple months. There are historical codes U029A-00 (lost communication with hybrid battery pack sensor module), U0412-00 (invalid data received from battery energy control module A), and current code P1D43-00 (internal control module shut off test monitoring time er…
On 8/16/26, my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid would not start after being parked for several hours in an underground parking structure in downtown Detroit during a baseball game. There were no warnings before the failure. The vehicle was towed to Serra Lake Orion at a cost of about $700. The dealer found diagnostic trouble code P0AA1 (hybrid/EV battery positive contactor circuit). The high-voltage system is locked down and the vehicle cannot be started or driven. The vehicle has been at the dealer since August 18, 2026, and as of 10/1/26 has been out of service for about 6 weeks. The dealer has an open Chrysler STAR technical support case (102974656) seeking approval to replace the high-volt…
Rear trunk gets disabled after 10 minutes and will not open/close by remote or electrical rear switch causing a child or van camping issue. It has to forced physically by pulling it down and can't be done by short people. While van camping and adult or child cant open the trunk
Around 08/2026, FCA US LLC Dealer performed FCA Safety Recall 52D (NHTSA 26V-362) on my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid. The recall included a software update to the high-voltage Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM). Before the service, the radio and infotainment system worked normally. Right after the recall service, the radio screen on the instrument panel stopped working and the infotainment software began crashing repeatedly. As a result, the radio and audio system can't be used. The dealer confirmed that the problem appeared after the recall repair but has refused to fix it. The vehicle is still unrepaired. 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available fo…
The contact owned a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving up to a four-way intersection at approximately 5 MPH, a second vehicle driving approximately 50 MPH crashed into the front driverâs side quarter panel of the vehicle. During the crash, no air bags inside the vehicle deployed. The driver sustained a brain contusion and was transported to the hospital. The second-row driverâs side passenger sustained lower back and neck strain, and the third-row driverâs side passenger sustained a head contusion. Both were later driven to the hospital for medical attention. The driver of the second vehicle also sustained unknown injuries and was transported to the hospital.…
Our van will not charge when plugged in and a message on the dashboard says "Service Charging System". Also, the car will not go into reverse when turned on and the gear is showing in "R", reverse. It will not let me back up out of our garage.
We are on a 5th! Auxiliary battery since purchasing the vehicle new in 2019. It fails every 1-2 years and it causes the main battery to drain as a result of it which means replacing both batteries on average every 18 months.
Vehicle is a 2021 plug-in hybrid minivan within the population of an open safety recall for internal high-voltage battery failure that can result in fire, including while parked and not charging. The recall remedy, performed at a dealer, consisted of a battery control module software update intended to detect the defect, plus battery pack inspection and replacement if flagged. Approximately six weeks after the recall remedy was performed, the malfunction indicator lamp illuminated. Scan of the hybrid battery controller returned two stored codes: P1D43 (internal control module shut-off test monitoring time error) and U029A (lost communication with hybrid battery pack sensor module). U029A in…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2016–2027, owners most often name: engine, electrical system, power train. 4,320 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
