"Both front headlamp assemblies have internal moisture condensation and permanent residue/streaking on the interior lens surfaces. This is a known manufacturing defect documented across 2020-2024 C8 Corvette model years. GM issued TSB 01-08-42-001P acknowledging this defect. Cox Chevrolet documented both headlamps as 'DEFECTIVE HEADLAMP LENSES' on repair order #428778. The vehicle has only 3,700 miles. GM's own Policy Evaluation Tool confirms zero miles driven out of warranty. GM offered only $250 in rewards points in response to a formal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act demand for $5,050 in repair coverage. GM Case numbers: 91145522 and 105260981. This is a safety concern as defective headlamps r…
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that there was a strong fuel odor coming from vehicle while parked or while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where a diagnostic test was performed. The technician removed the fuel tank and discovered that the hose connected to the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The dealer notified the manufacturer about the failure; however, the manufacturer stated that the warranty had expired. The contact was informed by the dealer that the repair would be an out-of-pocket expense. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the contact with the same information as the dealer. The failure mileage was 42,134
I purchased car on July 8. September 3, I delivered the vehicle to the dealership because of a significant fuel-system failure. Still awaiting fix. The failure involved fuel-system components, including the fuel tube/multiple O-ring assembly, and resulted in a significant gasoline spill on my garage floor (an O-ring was also found inside the fuel tank). The dealershipâs service department photographed the failed fuel-system components, and I have been informed the components were subsequently shipped back to GM engineers (inclusive of the tank) for examination and analysis so GM could determine how the failure occurred and how the vehicle should be repaired. I have adked for written clarif…
Can smell gas fumes after filling gas tank. Had independent shop analyze problem and codes indicated a cracked fuel pump module. This is a serious hazard because fuel can leak onto exhaust or heat shield and cause a fire. GM currently has a Special Coverage Program #17469 for 2014-2017 corvette. My 2019 corvette has the exact same issue and should be covered under Program #17469. My corvette has only 23000 miles.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that while the vehicle was on a trailer dynamometer machine, a plastic piece at the bottom of the accelerator pedal fractured. The accelerator pedal slid up and became stuck in the full-throttle position and had to be manually returned to the normal position. The contact stated the engine overheated, and the stop button failed to turn off the vehicle. The ABS and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed back to the residence. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
Vehicle: 2022 Chevrolet Corvette C8 1LT VIN: [XXX] Mileage at time of defect: 5,359 miles Purchase Date:XXX ([XXX]) DEFECT DESCRIPTION: At approximately 5,359 miles, my vehicle developed a serious transmission defect. When placed in reverse gear and the brake pedal is released, the vehicle jerks backward abruptly and then shuts off completely. Additionally, when driving forward, the transmission skip-shifts unpredictably (e.g., jumping from 1st gear to 3rd gear to 5th gear without engaging intermediate gears). This creates a serious safety hazard, including sudden loss of power while driving and unpredictable/violent vehicle movement while reversing, which could cause a collision or injury …
The system that was affected was the power steering. As I was driving home doing residential speeds, I noticed a message pop up in my heads up display âPower Steering, Drive with Cautionâ as I selected okay, the steering wheel became very stiff. Luckily I was 5 minutes away from home and was able to drive carefully back into the garage. This is the first time Iâve experienced this failure. After parking the car in the garage, I turned the car off and then restarted the vehicle and the steering wheel had the same operability before the error. I plugged in my OBDII Reader to see if it produce any codes but to no avail. There was low-med risk as I was driving home with another vehicle beh…
Re: URGENT SAFETY CONCERN â 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 NHTSA Campaign No.: 25V536 GM Recall No.: N252514930 Dear NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation, I am writing to provide additional information regarding my 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and to respectfully request an urgent investigation into whether my vehicle should have been included in NHTSA Campaign No. 25V536 / GM Recall No. N252514930. My concern is extremely serious because my vehicle is experiencing a gasoline-related condition that appears consistent with the safety hazard identified in this recall. According to NHTSA's official recall documentation, certain 2023â2026 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles equipped with the left-s…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
This preliminary information provides the dealer with direction for addressing diagnostic trouble code P00C6 being set in history. The dealer is advised to clear the dtc and re-evaluate. If the dtc does not reset, they are instructed to release the vehicle, if the dtc does reset they are instructed to pursue published diagnostics for that dtc.
The purpose of this Preliminary Information is to inform dealership technicians how to diagnose a "Service Power Steering - No Assist Soon" message.

This PI is created to inform GM dealers that some vehicles may intermittently fail to connect wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto after Bluetooth pairing during the first key cycle. The condition is caused by a software anomaly. Do not replace parts. Engineering is investigating the root cause; customers may continue to drive the vehicle. This PI will be updated or replaced by a TSB once a resolution is determined.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: wheels, fuel/propulsion system, power train. 1,121 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
