Vehicle was purchased new from Yacht Club Powersports in [XXX] after remaining in its shipping crate since 2024. Yacht Club documented the pre-delivery inspection on XXX. On XXX, before leaving, the front tires visibly appeared very low. A family member and I questioned the salesperson and were told the tires were fine and the vehicle was safe to ride. I then rode more than 160 miles home. During the ride, the vehicle developed significant side-to-side steering/handlebar wobble at approximately 62-70 MPH. After arriving home, tire pressures were approximately 8 PSI left front, 9 PSI right front, and 20 PSI rear. A BRP representative later advised me that approximately 8-9 PSI front and 20 PS…
While riding, I felt the bike vibrating. Within seconds I heard a crack and snap and began to lose acceleration. Twisting the throttle only slightly revved the engine. I put on the hazard lights to alert vehicles behind me while I coasted to the left side of the road. When I stopped I noticed the belt was hanging and saw the front sprocket had broken. Insurance was contacted and the vehicle was transported to the dealership for inspection and repair. The dealership contacted the warranty company. Both the warranty and insurance was denied. Warranty expired in May and instance said it was a mechanical failure. Speaking with the service department, they confirmed it to be a mechanical failure…
Due to a mechanical failure, the front sprocket began wearing and eventually broke causing the vehicle to lose propulsion in traffic. Vehicle was left inoperable. In addition to the sprocket breaking from the engine, internal to the engine and transmission, several gears were damaged along with the drive belt. This same issue had a recall issued for the 2015-2019 Spyder RT and F3s in 2022.
My bike was brought into an authorized / certified service center and the, Component: rear wheel was not serviced correctly ; the service person forgot to install one of the two wheel bearings and the one bearing he did install was placed on the wrong side of the wheel ; I took the bike ; started my road trip ; the rear tire was wobbly but I thought it was an alignment issue that I would have to deal with when I arrived at the next service center. Safety: the wheel bearing was required for the bike to be assembled correctly ; the one lug nut holding the rear wheel assembly on the bike almost worked itself loose ; which would have caused my rear-wheel to lave the bike ; causing me to ha…
My vehicle has had this issue 2 times since it was purchased, the first time at 800 miles on the bike and the second time at 1050 miles on the bike. While driving at highway speeds 70 mph the automatic transmission just shifted into neutral, leaving me in the middle of traffic and trying to get off the highway safely.there was no sign of any trouble until it happened both times. The second time it happened I was almost hit by a passing vehicle as I had very little room to get off the highway. The vehicle did produce a trouble code and the dealer didnât know how to fix it, it was in their shop for 5 weeks and it was not fixed correctly but they gave it back to me and said ride it to see if …
While driving at multiple speeds a complete loss of power occurs from 15-30 seconds. Then will automatically re-engage at the speed when the power loss initiated. Bike does not code and does not have to be manually restarted. A huge safety issue when in traffic.
On April 8, 2026, while riding on a busy 8 Lane (4 each direction) interstate during evening rush hour, I experienced immediate loss of propulsion when I attempted to engage the throttle. There was absolutely no power, just a grinding noise. I immediately put on my hazard lights and began working my way over toward the right berm. The exit was within a very short distance and I was able to exit the interstate and pulled in to the first road I could. I had to put my Can Am Spyder in neutral so my husband could push me off to the side of the road to safety. There were no warnings or symptoms prior to my immediate loss of propulsion. I was placed in harm's way because most drivers were travelin…
About 1 time in 5, after getting ready to ride the entire display will freeze up 30-60 seconds after beginning the trip. Most often this occurs if CarPlay is also enabled. When this happens, all functionality on the dashboard display is frozen. No speedometer, tachometer, gear indicator, CarPlay freezes, etc. Only fix is to pull over, stop the bike and wait for it to power down - then restart and hope it works the next time. I have had instances where it has failed 3 times in a row before finally working. Once it works for over 2 minutes I have not had it freeze up. The other option is to keep riding with a frozen display for about 5 minutes, then it crashes and reboots and sometimes fixes i…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2026, owners most often name: fuel/propulsion system, engine, power train. 388 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
