What Cadillac XT6 owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Cadillac XT6 safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

I was driving in a highway going at highway speed and the car suddenly just shut off and all the alert lights were reflected at that time the car was not responding completely, shut off, then within seconds after the lights flashed it started on it's own. It was the first time this happened. I was concerned that the car would not respond and maybe could have cost an accident.
Your site shows no recalls. I got a recall for a repair I had to have done a few months ago. I just got the recall notice from GM, but when I called to inquire about a reimbursement, they state the recall was released in 10/2025. Even though your site says there was no recall at the time.
Year/Make/Model: 2025 Cadillac XT6 AWD Sport Mileage at time of incident: ~12,233 COMPONENT: Service Brakes, Hydraulic / Brake Booster Vacuum Sensor DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM: While driving on a main road 1 mile away from the dealership, the brakes failed without warning. The vehicle was driven directly to the dealership (Les Stanford Cadillac, Dearborn, MI) for emergency inspection. This is the same defect that has now caused brake failure twice in approximately 5,500 miles: a brake booster vacuum sensor failure that previously triggered a brake assist warning and was "repaired" on 10/07/25 at 6,747 miles, then recurred and was "repaired" again on 05/29/26 at 12,233 miles. Both repairs re…
Vehicle stalled while driving on a busy road creating a very dangerous situation. Could not put it in neutral to push it out of the road; it was partially in the road for over an hour. Had to have it towed to replace the fuel pump and fuel pump control unit. Found two recalls after the incident and was told by Cadillac that my VIN was excluded. 1. Fuel Pump Assembly Recall (N202314760 / NHTSA Campaign 20V639) Fuel Pump Power Control Module Recall (N252516900) Out of pocket expense was $1173.97
The vehicle has had breaking issues since I purchased it in September 23, 2023. On April 26, 2025 the car completely shut down while driving it for no apparent reason. Took it to the certified Cadillac dealer (see picture). Said, it was fixed. May 11, 2026 started doing it again while driving, turning, backing up or at a light. Breaks keep saying need to be serviced too. Had it towed in to Cadillac dealer they canât get it to repeat problem or get codes to find out problem. I got Cadillac involved to help. Case number 98248412. Had to pick car up today spoke again with service manager at Cadillac dealer. He said, car has major issues and itâs rearing its ugly head (car is defec…
My Cadillac has experienced a history of repeated mechanical/electrical issues and has spent extended periods of time out of service at the dealership for repairs. On todayâs date, while driving at normal roadway speed, the vehicle suddenly lost all power without warning, creating a dangerous safety situation. The vehicle became extremely difficult to control and lost normal drivability functions while in traffic. I was fortunately able to safely maneuver the vehicle to a stop without a collision or injury. Due to the complete loss of power and unsafe operating condition, the vehicle had to be towed. I will get it to the dealership when they open again for business on Monday. Given the …
at 60,740 miles, "Steering Assist is Reduced Drive with Care" message appeared. Under warranty, but dealership booked for 2 months. Error went away. After powertrain warranty expires (70,000 miles), message constantly appears, and coolant thermostat display is BLANK. Results in excess fan usage (lowering fuel consumption), reduced steering assist, aggravation, check engine light. This issue has developed while under warranty, for a practically new car. Unacceptable. An extended warranty should be in effect for model 2020 as well.
2025 CADILLAC XT6 AWD SPORT, VIN [XXX] , PURCHASED NEW FROM CENTRAL [XXX] CADILLAC ON FEBRUARY 20, 2026 WITH 3,950 MILES. WITHIN APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS OF DELIVERY THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED AN ABNORMAL ENGINE NOISE AT COLD START AND AN INTERMITTENT VIBRATION DURING DRIVING. I REPORTED BOTH SYMPTOMS TO CENTRAL HOUSTON CADILLAC BY PHONE AND TEXT MESSAGE. DEALER PERSONNEL TOLD ME THE NOISE WAS "NORMAL" AND THAT "ALL CADILLAC/GM VEHICLES HAVE THAT ISSUE." BASED ON THAT ASSURANCE I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS FAMILY TRANSPORTATION, INCLUDING WITH MY MINOR CHILDREN ONBOARD, ONE OF WHOM IS A SPECIAL-NEEDS CHILD. IN APRIL 2026, APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE, I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE T…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2020–2026, owners most often name: electrical system, power train, unknown or other. 105 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
