The contact owns a 2025 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that while driving 10 MPH, the brakes suddenly failed with the "Brake Assist Failure" and "Service ESC" warning lights illuminated. After restarting the vehicle, the contact received a secondary message that the vehicle would be limited to 45 MPH, with an instruction to press the brake pedal very hard. The contact stated that the brake pedal felt extremely squishy and unsafe to operate because it failed to operate properly. On a separate occasion, the vehicle shut off without warning, with a very loud clicking sound coming from the vehicle. After several attempts, the vehicle was restarted, and the audio and electronics functioned as …
Transmission slip, surging forward, grinding, not shifting, shuts down completely
The vehicle is experiencing an intermittent but severe safety defect involving the StabiliTrak and Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) systems. While driving at operational speeds, the "Service StabiliTrak" warning light illuminates, immediately followed by the uncommanded, autonomous engagement of the electronic parking brake. When the defect occurs, the vehicle forcibly brakes itself and suffers a complete loss of throttle response, preventing acceleration. This creates a severe, immediate crash hazard, as the vehicle decelerates abruptly without warning to surrounding traffic, leaving the driver unable to accelerate out of harm's way.The vehicle was brought to an authorized General Motors deal…
After purchasing this 2023 Buick Enclave July 26, 2026 two days later I heard a vibrating rattle coming from under the hood. I raised the hood and pinpointed the noise to be coming from under the motor cover. I could not remove that cover myself. I reported it to the dealership where I bought it and they said when I bring it in to have the Paint And interior, Protection to be applied that they would take a look for that rattle sound. After their inspection on 9/16/26 they called me back and said that it was the EVAP purge solenoid tube. And that the fix would be to put two rubber dampeners onto the purge tube line to isolate the vibrations and stop it from hitting other engine components. …
The contact owns a 2020 Buick Enclave. While the contact's wife was attempting to park the vehicle, the transmission failed to shift into park as needed. The contact stated that after several attempts, the vehicle was parked. The contact used bricks to chock the wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with a failed valve body and internal transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted by phone and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.
My car started making a loud and rattling noise and when I had my vehicle looked at there was a huge crack in my exhaust pipe which could potentially be leaking harmful toxins in the cabin of my vehicle. I have been to so many places who say they donât have what they need to repair this and that I need to reach out to GM. I have seen over 30 similar stories in these complaints. This is very unsafe and something needs to be done about this for the 2020 model as it has been done for others. We are afraid to even keep all the windows rolled up with our children inside for fear of carbon monoxide leaking through.
Vehicle suffered a catastrophic, uncommanded electronic and mechanical system failure within 30 days of purchase, resulting in a severe crash.Prior to the incident, the vehicle exhibited a violent, unexpected jerking motion while accelerating up a highway on-ramp, though control was briefly regained. A few days later at the end of May, while driving in the rain, the electronic systems completely failed with zero dashboard warning lights or error messages appearing. The vehicle completely overrode driver input, veering uncontrollably from lane to lane on its own. Simultaneously, a total loss of braking power occurred; pressing the brake pedal had no effect on reducing the vehicle's speed. To s…
The sunroof exploded without warning. Driving 57 MPH on a 55 MPH road, it was a sunny day, there were no cars around me and there were open fields on both sides of me. My daughter (17-years old) was starring up at the sunroof when the sunroof exploded.....And it sounded like a gunshot. Manufacturer would not warranty the sunroof as I could not prove the glass was not broken by an object.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
On April 11, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation PE24011 after receiving complaints concerning a loss of brake assist in 2023 MY Cadillac Lyriq vehicles. These complaints allege a hard brake pedal, followed by a âBrake System Failureâ message at start up or while driving. GM shared records regarding several internal investigations for loss of brake assist due to alleged spindle fractures in the eBoost system. GM has stated that in the event of a spin

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: air bags, engine, steering. 1,745 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
