What Porsche Taycan owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Porsche Taycan safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

While driving at approximately 90 mph on XXX on the highway, my 2021 Porsche Taycan (VIN [XXX], 51,730 miles) displayed an electrical system error with the turtle (reduced power) icon. The car received all loss of acceleration, warning message to pull over to a complete stop, and was able thankfully to pull over safely to the shoulder. I took the vehicle to Porsche Atlanta Perimeter on XXX. The technician found fault code P0E9D00, DC/DC converter current circuit 2 short to ground, with an active red warning "Electrical System Fault - Stop Vehicle Safely" stored in the front (A49) or rear (A50) high-voltage power electronics control units. The dealer referenced Porsche Technical Information …
I was making a left hand turn into a shopping center today around 4:55pm and the collision indicator flashed on and jerked my car to a stop in the middle of the road. There were no cars in my immediate area so it should not have been triggered. It was incredibly dangerous as it left me in the middle of the road, mid-turn. I am unaware if this has been checked by my dealership but we have had other issues that they have claimed to check to no avail.
There is a red ring that comes up on left side of dashboard that has text inside it that says "Keep hands on steering wheel." It removes acceleration of the car and stiffens the steering wheel until you jerk the wheel and get it to turn off. It is very distracting and happens suddenly. I drive on XXX in the [XXX] suburbs, it is a very straight highway with a lot of congestion. This "safety" feature is going to get me killed. People are tailgating, swerving, driving like lunatics during rush hour. The last thing I need is my car distracting me because it doesn't sense pressure on the wheel or whatever input it is looking for. I'm driving in traffic going straight on a dead straight and…
Porsche dealers are not fixing this recall. They offer service appointments 6 months in advance, and then cancel at the last minute. I've been trying to get this recall done for 18 months, with no success.
Three NHTSA safety recalls are open and unremedied on my 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S: 25V896 (high-voltage battery â cell-module short circuit / fire risk), 24V732 (battery inspection, cell-module replacement, software update), and 24V455 (front brake hoses â cracking and brake-fluid leakage). Open status is confirmed by the manufacturer's own lookup at [XXX] as of XXX. The recalls cannot be completed because the manufacturer's authorized network refuses to confirm or schedule the work. The vehicle originated in the US and is now registered in [XXX]. In December 2025 the authorized dealer (Winner Porsche Center Kyiv Airport) refused, stating recalls are performed only for vehicles originally…
I own a 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S (in service Nov 2, 2020) with a performance+ HV battery. I am currently facing a third round of module replacements. The service chronology and detail is set forth in the attached e-mail I sent to Porsche and the attached service reports. The safety concern I have is that when the defective modules fail, the vehicle suddenly becomes inoperable. The last failure incident in April 2026 resulted in the vehicle blocking in two other vehicles until it could be removed on a flatbed. I simply do not feel safe driving a vehicle that could shut down whenever the next module failure happens. There are 33 modules in the HV battery. 15 have been replaced already an…
While driving my Porsche Taycan through a high-speed intersection, the vehicle suddenly displayed battery and chassis system error messages instructing me to pull over immediately. Before I could safely move the vehicle to the side of the road, it completely lost propulsion, speed control, and steering capability, causing the vehicle to abruptly slow to 0 mph in active traffic and leaving me stranded in the middle of the roadway. This created an immediate safety hazard, as approaching vehicles nearly collided with my car because it effectively performed an unexpected emergency stop without warning. Approximately one month earlier, the vehicle experienced the exact same failure while parked, …
I have had two delaminations of my tires, one in August 2023, and one just this week - June 2026. Pictures are attached. Both tires had more than 50% tread left, and the tread was delaminating from the sidewall. MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 4S Max Performance Summer Tires in 285/40ZR22
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
In May 2021, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened a Preliminary Evaluation (PE) of complaints received alleging a loss of motive power while in motion at any speed with no prior warning to the driver in the 2020-2021 model year (MY) Porsche Taycan electric vehicles. ODI had received 9 Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQs) and several field reports. All complaints alleged that a loss of motive power occurred without warning and error messages about a battery fault displayed during or af

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2020–2026, owners most often name: electrical system, engine, power train. 275 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
