What Porsche Macan owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Porsche Macan safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

The seat occupancy sensor fails and deactivates passenger air bag. A previous recall exists for 2015-2018 but the issue continues to occur in 2021 Macan models: [XXX] Requesting the recall include model years 2015-2021 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Fuel System / Fuel Pump Flange Area. Yes, the vehicle and the affected components are parked, completely out of service, and available for physical inspection upon request. - How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle is experiencing an active, severe external fuel leak, creating an immediate and extreme safety hazard due to the severe risk of fire or explosion. As a single parent, this is my sole vehicle used to transport my son, and this sudden catastrophic failure directly endangers our safety. Furthermore, I serve on active duty in the military; reliable transportation …
I have a non working passenger side headlight. No indication on my interior alert system that there is a problem with my headlight. I have read that Porsche is aware of this problem on their vehicles.
In late August 2026 I noticed a strong gasoline odor in and around the vehicle, particularly after refueling, and stopped driving it immediately. On September 2, 2026, an independent Porsche specialist inspected the fuel-pump service area beneath the rear seat and documented: (1) the low-pressure fuel-pump filter/sender flange was actively leaking liquid fuel and venting gasoline vapor toward the passenger compartment; (2) liquid fuel was pooling on top of the flange assembly; (3) the fuel-pump service cover showed evidence of the earlier ALA2 recall rework, including modified structural reinforcement ribs and a relocated alignment marking; (4) despite the prior rework, the plastic fuel-pump…
The right passenger headlight which is supposed to be an LED light was out 1. early for an LED light and 2. without any notification. The lack of notification put both me and other drivers at harm Seems to be a known issue for the 2020 macans with the lighting They have made it so that the light is nearly impossible to be replaced
Right headlight assembly (low beam) stops working properly. Running light and high beam works fine but not the low beam. Installed a replacement bought on ebay which worked for a few months but the same issue eventually reappeared.
My 2019 Porsche Macan S driver side low beam lamp failed. As this vehicle is so advanced, it is failing to report headlamp failures. It is safety concern because during the nights it can create blind spots and opposite traffic failed to recognize it is 4 wheeler vehicle.
My vehicle is currently leaking raw gasoline and active smoke is coming out from the fuel pump assembly directly beneath the rear passenger seat. This is the exact, identical catastrophic failure mechanism outlined in federal safety recalls NHTSA Campaign 20V077000 (Recall ALA2) and 17V-289 (Recall AH06).My vehicle is completely undrivable and constitutes an immediate fire hazard. While a local dealer stated my specific VIN is not currently showing on their active recall database, this is an identical manifestation of the fuel filter flange cracking defect. as this vehicle constitutes a severe risk to life and property.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 20

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2014–2026, owners most often name: air bags, exterior lighting, electrical system. 265 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
