received truck yesterday , inspected the vehicle with wheels chocked and the emergency brake released 3 out of the 4 brake chamber hoses were leaking on the emergency side of the drive axel brake chambers. With the foot brake depressed driver side steer axel brake chamber service port hose leaked also.
The Crane operator reported that the trucks dashboard was frozen, the truck would not restart. No warning light displayed at this time and the truck was stationary. The truck was towed. Peterbilt provided mobile service and the issue was thought to be resolved. Dash froze again while the truck was traveling, warning lights and sound went off this time. No Accident occurred but having the dashboard fail when in motions was a very unsafe situation and additionally if the trucks dash system was to freeze up when the crane is deployed that would also be an unsafe situation. The truck is currently at a Peterbilt Service provider, but the issue has not been resolved after 5 weeks.
The contact owns 2024 Peterbilt 567. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH, there was a strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was driving to the dealer to be diagnosed and it was determined that the fuel tank was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was attempted to be notified; however, the manufacturer was no longer in business. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.
Right side transmission stalk failed. Truck shut down and was only able to get partially out of 4 lane highway. Truck had to be towed as it would not reset/clear. Dealer replaced transmission stalk. Despite there being a safety recall for these devices (24v-190), and this truck meeting all requirements to be included in the recall, Peterbilt says it is not included and is currently offering no cost covered repair. We also had another truck have the same issue a few months ago.
The contact owns a 2021 Renegade Classic 37CTS RV constructed on a 2021 Peterbilt 567 chassis. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds on three separate occasions the rear tires had experienced a blowout. After having the RV weighed it was discovered that the vehicle weighed 22,880 pounds although the label on the RV indicated that the maximum weight capacity of the axle was 23,000 pounds. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 14,000.
OUR DRIVER WAS IN TOW WITH A VEHICLE WHEN HE STARTED EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS, WE ADVISED HIM TO RETURN TO THE YARD TO SWAP TRUCKS AND COMPLETE THE CALL THIS WAS ON 3/23/2020. VEHICLE WOULD WANDER LEFT AND RIGHT WITHIN THE LANE ONCE UP TO ABOUT 40 MPH. SYMPTOMS FELT AS IF ALIGNMENT WAS OFF, OR AS IF TIRES WERE FOLLOWING A RUT IN THE PAVEMENT. ONCE VEHICLE WAS LOADED, STEERING WHEEL WOULD BE CLOCKED ABOUT 10-15 DEGREES TO THE LEFT WHILE VEHICLE TRACKED STRAIGHT. DRIVER WOULD HAVE TO CONTINUOUSLY APPLY CORRECTIVE INPUT TO THE STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM DIVING LEFT AND RIGHT WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ISSUE WAS DETERMINED TO BE STEERING BOX FAILURE, DUE TO INCORRECT LENGTH OF ONE OF THE STEERING BOX MOUNTING BOLTS INSTALLED AT MANUFACTURING FACILITY. *TT *TR

"The PKC Group power distribution center (PDC) in certain vehicles may be contaminated with oil, which could result in a loss of power to the engine, antilock brake system, exterior lighting, windshield wipers, and/or defrost system. This issue may also result in non-compliance with multiple Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) and Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) regulations, such as FMVSS/CMVSS 103 (windshield defrosting and defogging systems), 104 (windshield wiping and washing systems), and 108 (lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment). NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Preliminary Evaluation (PE21-015) based on one Vehicle Owner Questionnaire (VOQ) and supporting fleet reports. The reports indicated that the subject quarter fenders were prone to cracking and/or separation. After a comprehensive review of the data related to the quarter fender failures on the subject vehicles, ODI did not identify the existence of a safety-related defect trend. Quarter fender failures resulted in a warranty claim rate less th

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: electrical system, power train, tires. 8 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
