Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
The bulletin has been updated to include vehicles equipped with 141 kWh batteries.
"Kenworth: Dealers should check the chassis list and SIR weekly for VIN changes. 2 chassis added to the chassis list. Peterbilt: Dealers should check the chassis list and SIR weekly for VIN changes. 10 chassis added to the chassis list."
"(KW): Certain Kenworth K270 and K370 Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) chassis equipped with certain DANA cradle harnesses may intermittently lose electrical continuity at one or more C40 connector pins. This can occur without warning and cause loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash. Certified BEV technicians will inspect the C40 connector and replace the cradle harness, if necessary. This safety recall defect is identical to 25KWD and applies to certain Canadian chassis added on 07/02/2026. Certain Model 220, K270, and K370 BEV chassis are broadcasting incorrect VINs to PACCAR Solutions.
Software updates are available for certain Peterbilt Model 220 BEVs that experience battery pack cell imbalances.
CARB Label Procedure Update The repair procedure removes the aftermarket change request, adds GHG label inspection, and directs dealers to open a TCS365 case to order new labels. Warranty codes for inspection and label replacement have been updated. Certain Battery Electric Vehicles that are subject to California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations have GHG labels that are missing the CARB Enhanced EV and FCEV Statement.
Certain Battery Electric Vehicles that are subject to California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations have Vehicle Emissions Control Information (VECI) labels that are missing the CARB Enhanced EV and FCEV Statement.
A photo of the two ring terminals and a caution statement have been added to the Dana Cradle Harness Removal and Installation Procedure. Safety Recall Parts and procedures are now available. Interim flagging has been removed from chassis in the PACCAR Registration and Warranty System and will now display the safety recall number. Refer to Bulletin 99-048 for details. The chassis affected population has increased.
5/29/2025: A new Ethernet Multiplexed Architecture (EMUX) Service Tool Kit service manual (SM034-022) has been released to provide general use information. The new EMUX Service Tool Kit improves cab & chassis electrical troubleshooting efficiency, while reducing risk of component damage. 4/29/2025: The Ethernet Multiplexed Architecture (EMUX) Service Tool Kit and individual kit components are now available to order. Safety Recall â Interim Notification Certain Medium Duty Battery Electric Vehicles (MD BEV) may experience intermittent continuity in one or more terminal pins of the C40 connector on the cradle harness. Intermittent connections in the C40 connector may result in a loss of propulsion, which may increase the risk of a crash. This bulletin will be updated once parts and procedures are available.
Info Only Unnecessary starter replacements can result from customer complaints regarding engine starting issues. A new Starter Troubleshooting Guide has been created to provide a comprehensive list of starting system checks, which should reduce unnecessary starter replacements and associated warranty claims. Engine starting system warranty claims now require a completed Starter Checklist, a Battery Pack Midtronics Report, and a Cable Drop Midtronics Report. Claims filed without these documents may be denied.
Information Only Storage guideline procedures are now available for both Medium Duty and Heavy-Duty Battery Electric Vehicles.
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Preliminary Evaluation (PE21-015) based on one Vehicle Owner Questionnaire (VOQ) and supporting fleet reports. The reports indicated that the subject quarter fenders were prone to cracking and/or separation. After a comprehensive review of the data related to the quarter fender failures on the subject vehicles, ODI did not identify the existence of a safety-related defect trend. Quarter fender failures resulted in a warranty claim rate less th

No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
