The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport. The contact stated that while driving 10 MPH and pulling into a parking space, the vehicle unexpectedly revved and accelerated. Due to the failure, the vehicle ran over two curbs and crashed into a parked vehicle. No air bags deployed during the crash. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was inspected by the insurance company for a claim and was towed to a service center for repair. The contact was informed that the vehicle was scheduled to be repaired for the crash damage; however, the vehicle had not been diagnosed to determine the cause of the unintended acceleration. The contact expressed concerns that the cause of the failure should be diag…
The contact owned a 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport. The contact stated that while parking the vehicle in a parking space, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle accelerated unintendedly. The brake pedal was depressed with excessive force several times, but the vehicle failed to respond and crashed into the wall of a business. The Fire Department responded to the scene. The contact sustained body aches and neck pain the following day; however, medical assistance was not received. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot and was deemed a total loss by the insurance company after inspection. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
I was driving and my heat hand shot up to the hot and I pulled into the parking lot and cut the car off and noticed the fan was not working
Nissan Rogue Sport with 39,500 miles. While driving on a busy highway the vehicle all of a sudden was losing power and surging dangerously. Barely made it home. There were no warning lights. It had to be towed to a garage. There were no leaks. I was told the CVT transmission would have to be replaced. It was towed to a Nissan dealer who verified the CVT transmission would indeed need to be replaced. Nissan said that because the Motor oil changes were not done at a Nissan dealer they would not give good will assistance on this car. I told them that motor oil has nothing to do with the CVT transmission. They didn't seem to care, they just said they are not helping.
Vehicle randomly overheats, primarily when idling and is stationary. Temperate will send gauge hot andwill pin to the hot side. Cooling system over pressurized. Steam started coming out of engine box. Car died and would not start. Fortunately I was able to vent the overflow cap. Needed to add a gallon of water.
The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport. While driving the vehicle at an undisclosed speed, the air conditioning system intermittently ceased to blow cool air. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the cooling fan assembly needed to be replaced. The repair was not yet performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,550.
The front passenger seat Occupant Classification System (OCS) sensor failed. When the passenger seat is completely empty and vacant, the dashboard airbag warning light illuminates and stays on. However, when an adult sits in the passenger seat, the warning light turns off and the system functions normally. This indicates the sensor mat inside the seat cushion has lost its "zero-point" baseline calibration or suffered an internal electronic failure, causing it to read a ghost weight when empty. The component is still installed in the vehicle and is available for inspection. Safety is severely put at risk because a malfunctioning OCS sensor can cause the vehicle's computer to miscalculate pass…
Daughter was driving and smoke starting coming out of car. Had to pull over on side of the road - which is unsafe. The radiator Fan Assembly needs replaced, PCV valve needs replaced, CVT fluid which has been confirmed by Ted Russel Nissan in Knoxville, TN. No warnings went off for her to be prepared. This is a known issue and a class action lawsuit was filed in 2026.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2017–2022, owners most often name: engine, unknown or other, electrical system. 343 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
