Iâve experienced a complete brake failure and near collision involving my family. I have sent a formal written complaint to Nissan Corporate and I need to open a safety case immediately.â We were exiting the freeway when the brakes went to the floor. I tried to pump the breaks, that did not help, I dodge several cars and flew out into on coming traffic just missing two vehicles. The issue has been confirmed by Mountainview Auto Service. It has not been inspected by anyone other than Mountainview. No warning lights. We were headed out to dinner and on the freeway the traffic came to a stop and I had to use the emergency lane to stop and at that time I was able to pump the breaks, upon ta…
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Quest. The contact stated that while at a red light, once the light turned green, the contact had to depress the accelerator pedal several times, and 5 seconds afterward,s the vehicle accelerated. No warning lights were illuminated; however, the "Low Coolant" message was displayed on the instrument panel. The failure had occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the residence, and was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
Terrible paint peeling on the hood and rear. No accidents or anything that would cause peeling paint. Color is white.
I purchased the van and noticed that at times it would suddenly de-accelerate and drop from whatever speed im doing and refuse to speed up even if I press the gas peddle to the floor. Id come up to a stop sign and stop, then at times it wouldnt accelerate, even with the peddle to the floor, it would barely move forward. I brought it back to the person I purchased it from tried to describe what happened, they had someone check the transmission and said it was fine. Its continued to do this, and has almost caused crashes because it does it periodically and without warning on inclines, at red lights, if I driven a long distance (i.e. 1hr or so) etc, and when stopped. Its done this especially w…
The front passenger door actuator stopped working so that you can lock and unlock the door. I saw that there is a lawsuit for other Nissan models of the same year for issues with the same part and figured it might all be the same part and should report it. It has been confirmed by monro auto repair shop.
My vehicle is experiencing the issue under Recall NHTSA ID 12V076000: fuel supply issue that could cause engine stalling. Specifically, due to a programming error, the fuel pump might not supply enough fuel to the engine when driving at slow speeds or idling downhill with a ¼ tank or less of fuel.
My van is not accelerating properly, it seems to idle out and does not go over 20 mph it idles on acceleration decline. i could not get out of way fast enough if traffic was busy.
The CVT transmission on this vehicle has failed. The vehicle is jerking and and stalls while driving. If I'm at a light stopped and the light changes to go, the vehicle won't move unless I put my foot all the way down on the accelerator then it Jenks and starts to move. I took it to Sheridan Nissan in Delaware, and they told me this has been the issue with the CVT transmission and I need to just get rid of the van. To get a new one put in is over $7000 with just a 12 Mos12,000 miles warranty and they say it may go out again. I was told by another dealership that Nissan new about this problem, but won't fix it. I've noticed that they have replaced CVT transmissions in other Nissan vehicles a…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
NHTSA opened Audit Query (AQ) 12-003 to determine whether Gwinnett Place Nissan of Duluth, Georgia complied with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, 49 U.S.C. Chapter 301 (Safety Act) and its implementing regulations. The Safety Act requires, among other things, that a manufacturer notify its dealers of defects related to motor vehicle safety and noncompliances with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and, in turn, that a dealer not sell a new vehicle subjec
Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2017, owners most often name: power train, electrical system, fuel system, gasoline. 226 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
