A 2023 Nissan Ariya developed a grinding/noise condition. An initial dealership repair did not correct it. The vehicle was promptly returned. Subsequent diagnosis involved the traction-motor/drivetrain area, and Nissan ultimately authorized substantial warranty work involving replacement/repair of the traction motor and associated components. The vehicle remained out of service for an extended period while additional leakage was reportedly identified.

2024 Nissan Ariya Evolve+ e-4ORCE, manufactured 11/2023, approximately 15,544 miles. Vehicle began displaying "Service EV System" when attempting Level 2 charging and would intermittently refuse to charge. Dealer diagnostic scan showed DTC P2E2B-12 (Drive Motor A Excitation Current) and P0AA6-23 (Electric Insulation/high-voltage isolation fault). Dealer physically tested the front traction motor and documented excitation resistance of 2.56 ohms, outside Nissan specification. Front traction motor was replaced. After front motor replacement, P0AA6 remained. Dealer isolated/tested rear traction motor and documented failed insulation resistance. Rear traction motor was then replaced. Both tr…
On two occasions the car stopped while on the highway. Dealer checked it twice. Told me to drive it and when it happens again I should bring it in. The entire digital instrument cluster, including the radio cluster has gone blank at least 5 or 6 time while the car is still driving. I feel that this is a safety issue and needs to be addressed. I am going to contact the dealership to see if they can figure out the problem.
Car's backup camera doesn't engage, leaving the screen black. Dealer claimed it was fixed after a four hour visit, but the camera broke again the same day.
I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2023 Nissan Ariya involving an apparent failure of the 12-volt battery and/or electrical system. While parked overnight in my driveway, powered off, and not plugged in nor charging, the front battery/engine compartment began sizzling, overheating, and producing smoke. The heat caused internal damage and disabled the vehicle. This created a serious fire risk because the incident occurred at my home while the vehicle was unattended and inactive and it happened without any earlier signs or warning. My battery health was checked by the repair shop at the dealership within the last 5 months. The malfunction could have caused a vehicle or house fire and…

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2023–2026, owners most often name: electrical system, engine, power train. 53 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
