My 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SE has developed a localized area of unresponsive touch input in the lower-center portion of the infotainment touchscreen. The display itself continues to function normally, but touch commands do not register in the affected area. The failure is repeatable and appears to be a hardware/touchscreen digitizer failure. This creates a safety and vehicle-operation concern because the touchscreen is also used to access and adjust vehicle settings and functions, not just entertainment. When controls are located within the unresponsive area, those settings cannot be adjusted. One specific concern is the vehicle's power-folding mirror setting. If the touchscreen beco…
While attempting to park head-on into a parking stall, the car suddenly excellerated at high speed and hit a parking barrier head on. At no time prior to hitting the parking barrier did the drive touch the excellerator pedal. Although the entire front end of the vehicle was totalled into a "V" shape the air bags never deployed. Driver attempted to brake but it was too late, happened too fast. After the impact and with the brake pedal fully engaged the car was still moving. A passerby jumped into the passenger seat and was abel to put the car into park. Police were notified but no accident report was issued according to the responding officier becasue it happened on private property.
I purchased this vehicle brand new, and since the beginning I have experienced a problem with the air conditioning system. The A/C compressor turns on and off approximately every five seconds while the air conditioning is operating. This constant cycling appears abnormal and affects the system's performance and the overall driving experience. I have taken the vehicle to the authorized dealership on three separate occasions to have the issue inspected. Each time, I was told that this behavior is "normal" and that no repairs were necessary. However, I do not believe this is normal operation for a new vehicle, especially considering the extremely frequent compressor cycling. I am concerned th…
There is times when driving that the transmission jerks when I press the pedal, like the car is slipping when acceleration. I have 76,600 miles on it.
Without any warning after traveling downstate with our family the transmission let go. Never any warning lights, no transmission slippage. We went into a store and when we left the car wouldn't move. Mitsubishi dealer gave me a quote for a new transmission, and it cost what I owe on the car.
Shift lever/gear control and indicator devices: The vehicle can be switched off even when it isn't in park, and this action does not engage the parking function. Instead, it remains in Neutral, which means the car may rollâeven on a slight slope like a driveway. This poses a safety risk as the car could potentially move and endanger people exiting the vehicle. If the person is not attentive or physically unable to react quickly, child/elderly/pets, anyone really, the door could knock them over, possibly causing more serious bodily harm from the tires or other parts of the vehicle since it continues to move.
No Crank or Power 2x time in 4 months - 1st incident Nov 2025 with 6k miles; 2nd incident Mar 2026 with 9k miles
Touchscreen Issues: The center infotainment screen becomes unresponsive, particularly in frequently used areas, making it hard to control navigation and climate.

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2027, owners most often name: electrical system, air bags, service brakes. 70 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
