What MINI Paceman owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See MINI Paceman safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

In September 2025, the manufacturer issued a component specific extended limited warranty(MINI ELW FRM 15Y/186M)acknowledging the Footwell Module (FRM) may fail after a 12-volt battery disconnect or power supply interruption. My vehicle was identified by VIN as affected. Beginning in 2021, my vehicle experienced recurring electrical failures consistent with FRM failure: three battery replacements (2021, May 2024, December 2024), alternator failure (May 2024), windows failing to operate, erratic indicator lights, and engine rev on startup with momentary loss of vehicle control. Three separate mechanics examined the vehicle at different points. None could diagnose the cause because the FRM int…
Smitty's & Hank May of Norwalk confirm recall 23V337. Dealer confirms recall symptoms but resorts to word play & deflects symptoms for me to pay for repairs. Car would not start & was towed to Hank May 1st & Smitty's both of Norwalk, CT 06851 subsequently because dealer would not respond. Both service stations confirmed recall 23V337 & directed me to the dealer. Dealer acknowledges water in the car via sunroof & blocked drains they claim they cleared. Dealer recommends battery replacements & wants it done by them for "no problems" by other service stations. Dealer confirms damage of circuit boards but uses alternative names for me to pay. If the shoe fits, if it walks & talks like, then…
The frm module failed. Now the indicators don't work, no high beams, the windows won't work. It has a warning that says the driver side door is open. I called the dealership. They said that it has a 10 year, 156,000 mile warranty. It has 137,000 miles but the warranty expired in September of 2024. So it will cost me $921to fix a very known safety issue. I don't have that right now and this is my only vehicle so I am going to have to drive it it is a very common issue that they should have to correct

Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.

MINI electrical systems have continued to develop over the past few years. As a result, the demand on the batteries has increased. Breakdowns due to an empty battery or problems in the vehicles electrical system can have various causes, most of which are not due to the battery itself. For this reason, a battery replacement will permanently eliminate the problem only in the rarest of cases. The energy diagnosis test module helps to localize these causes. This document covers important information for the dealer on how to handle âÃÂÃÂdischarged batteryâÃÂàcomplaints. Withou

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2013–2016, owners most often name: electrical system, engine, exterior lighting. 4 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
