What Mercury Grand Marquis owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See Mercury Grand Marquis safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

225/60R17 tire purchased new started going flat in the first week. Walmart tire said there was no warranty. Receipt says otherwise. P&M tire of Blackwell, OK found defects in the interior sidewall and told us the tire had manufacturing defects. Reported to Nexen by making an account and filing a warranty request which they denied. They keep saying we are lying to deflect blame. We have the tire, it could be inspected by their preferred tire shop but they would rather be mad and yell at us. There is no receipt from P&M because they didn't charge us for looking at a tire they could not repair.
the lower bearing separates, the vehicle may experience a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash. Improper servicing of the upper intermediate shaft could cause the shaft to separate, which can then result in a loss of steering control, and increasing the risk of a crash

BRAKES: The Dashboard Brake Warning Lights are Illuminated most of the time. 1. The ABS warning Light is illuminated. 2. The Brake Warning Light is illuminated also. The Ford Dealership Service Dept cannot Fix it saying this is intermittent and attributed it to a loose wire connection located behind the Left driver Kick Panel. So far Brakes work irregardless of Brake Warning Lights illumination. You Tube videos offer no solution and clearly state Vehicles with Brake Warning Lights should not be driven. If my state required a Motor Vehicle Inspection, this Car would not pass Inspection. Please Help Resolve this situation.

DRIVING ON HUMID DAY, CLOSED WINDOWS AND TURNED ON A/C. CONTROLLER FAILED TO CLOSE DEFROSTER VENTS, CAUSING WINDOW TO QUICKLY FOG UP, RESTRICTING FORWARD VISION. PREVIOUSLY HAD SAME PROBLEM ON 2006 GRAND MARQUIS WHICH I HAD REPAIRED BY FORD DEALER. TOOK 2011 TO DEALER, GOT REPAIR ESTIMATE OF $900, AS DASHBOARD MUST BE REMOVED TO GET TO FAILING PART. AM TOLD PROBLEM IS VACUUM LEAK IN CONTROLLER COMPONENT. ALTHOUGH ASSOCIATED WITH A/C, WHICH GENERALLY IS NOT CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE, THE CONTROLLER FAILURE DOES RESULT IN A SAFETY ISSUE, AND IN MY OPINION SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO RECALL.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with wired keyless entry keypad systems and accessory wireless keyless entry keypad systems may or may not come with a wallet card containing the master code. Unlike the integrated wired keypad, the accessory wireless keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool or from the label printed on the body control module (BCM). The Factory Keyless Entry Code application within the diagnostic scan tool will not provide an applicable master code for the accessory wireless keypad. On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission it is imperative that the converter pilot hub be greased with Motorcraft Multi-Purpose Grease Spray XL-5-A even if grease was not applied from the factory. Also verify that the engine/transmission alignment dowel pins are present as well as the engine crankshaft dowel pin, if equipped, when installing the transmission. Failure to adequately lubricate the converter hub greatly increases the likelihood of the flexplate cracking in the future. Missing dowels may cause a misalignment issue also resulting in a premature failure. Refer to Workshop

The Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual has been revised for diagnosing electronic throttle bodies (ETBs). The ETC_ACT and ETC_DSD PIDs should not used to diagnose possible ETB concerns. The IDS has a limited refresh rate when reading these PIDs and cannot display quickly enough to validate a concern. The PCM automatically monitors these inputs more accurately and will set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) when appropriate. Using these PIDs for diagnostics will lead to inaccurate results and improper ETB replacements. If a concern is intermittent and no DTCs are present, refer

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2010–2011, owners most often name: steering, electrical system, structure. 33 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
