SUBJECT: URGENT: Safety Recall Campaign 26V481 / XXXâ Unreasonable Remedy Delay and Economic Hardship (VIN: [XXX]). I am formally logging a safety complaint regarding the unreasonable delay by Mercedes-Benz in providing a remedy for NHTSA Recall 26V481 (Mercedes Campaign XXX), affecting my vehicle (VIN: [XXX]). The manufacturer reported this critical defect to the NHTSA on XXX. Despite months having passed, and with owner notifications scheduled for XXX, the remedy remains unavailable. My local authorized dealerships (Mercedes-Benz of West Palm Beach and Delray) have canceled my service appointments, stating they have zero parts allocation from corporate and cannot perform repairs. This ve…
NHTSA Recall 26V481 (Mercedes-Benz recall no. 2026070007). Interim owner notification letter dated September 18, 2026, titled "Replace Driver Door Lock." The micro-switch in the driver door lock may corrode and fail to detect an open driver door, which can prevent the electronic parking brake or "Auto-Park" feature from engaging automatically. This may result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Mercedes-Benz states in the interim letter that the remedy is not yet available and provides no date for when parts will arrive, leaving owners driving or parking a vehicle with a known rollaway defect. No crash, fire, injury, or fatality has occurred. Request: NHTSA shoul…
The contact owns a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB250. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign: 26V481000 (Latches/Lock/Linkages); however, the part for the recall repair was not available. The contact stated that while attempting to Park the vehicle, the parking brake independently engaged. The ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer and the failure was confirmed. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
I am submitting this complaint because I believe the repair performed under NHTSA Recall 21V990 / Mercedes-Benz Campaign 2022070009 in May 2024 failed to adequately correct the safety defect identified in the recall. When driving my axle snapped causing my tire to pop out and me to loose control of the car causing a crash into the curb. I have since been without a vehicle with Mercedes Benz of Augusta denying my vehicle after having it towed. They refused to even look at it seeing the axle issue. The recall specifically states: âMercedes-Benz AG has determined that on certain Model Year 2019â2021 A-Class and GLB-Class vehicles, the corrosion protection of the integral carrier of the fro…
My 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB has a serious, unresolved safety issue involving the hood-latch warning and windshield wipers. While I am driving, the hood-open warning appears and the windshield wipers cut in and out or shut off unexpectedly. This problem was already occurring by March 2026. The vehicle currently has approximately 85,000 miles. During the recent heavy rain in New Jersey, these interruptions have compromised my visibility while the vehicle was moving. When the wipers stop clearing rain, my ability to see traffic, pedestrians, lane markings, and roadway hazards is impaired. This can prevent me from recognizing danger and reacting in time, putting me and other road users at immedia…
On June 5 2026, my wife drove the vehicle into the garage. While she was exiting the vehicle with the driver's door open, the vehicle unexpectedly continued moving backward. My wife had to move out of the vehicle's path to avoid being struck or potentially crushed. The vehicle continued moving with the driver's door open, and the open door ultimately became lodged against a structural portion of the garage-door opening. Fortunately, my wife escaped physical injury. The vehicle and driver's-door area, however, sustained substantial damage.

Complaint Intermittent shift feel or thud/clunk noise perceived, such as a brief jerk or transmission reaction during certain driving situations. May be most noticeable when transitioning from a coasting condition to accelerator pedal application. May occur in all drive modes. Cause Dualâclutch transmissions (DCT) inherently exhibit more dynamic shifting behavior compared to other types of transmissions. This is due to the use of physical clutches for starting and gear changes. In certain situations, dynamic driving behavior can lead to a slight jerk sensation which is a normal technical cha

Complaint Tailgate opens unintentionally. Cause Accidental or unnoticed activation of the button to open the tailgate on the vehicle key. EXAMPLE: when stored in trouser pocket, handbag etc. Remedy As of the 6th generation, the vehicle key can be recoded so that the tailgate no longer opens as a result of a long press on the button, but by doubleâclicking on the button instead. This reduces the likelihood of the button being activated accidentally or unintentionally. The recoding can be carried out as follows: 1. Add SA Code O19 into VeDoc (O for Oscar, not "zero") ⢠an XSS ticket may be n

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2020–2026, owners most often name: unknown or other, engine, electrical system. 122 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
