Exterior door-handle/ actuator mechanism when it rains or the car gets washed it goes out and doesnât work. It could be a safety issue if ever in a critical situation and you can open the door. Itâs an issue a lot of Lexus LC500 owners are having.

Door handle failure. Well known issue. Internal door actuator commonly fails, causing you to be unable to open the door whether you are inside or outside the vehicle. Repair is also rather expensive.
Door actuator motor failed and door doesnât open. Known in forums that itâs a bad design where water from washing or rain leaks and corrodes the actuators leaving failed doors from opening.

The contact owns a 2024 Lexus LC500. The contact stated that the convertible top was leaking. While driving at approximately 70 MPH in the rain, water started to enter the vehicle. The contact stated that the passenger used paper towels and clothing to capture the water. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The 2026 model year Lexus vehicles are equipped with driver side floor mat retainers to secure the floor mat in the correct position. In addition, some models may also utilize retainers for passenger side and rear seat floor mats. During Pre-Delivery Service (PDS), follow the Installation Procedure in this bulletin to attach the driver side, and if applicable, the passenger side and rear seat floor mats to the vehicle carpet using the floor mat retainers. If installation instructions are included in the floor mat kit, place the instructions in the vehicleâs glove box for customer reference.
