What INFINITI QX70 owners have reported to NHTSA, the service bulletins the manufacturer sent dealers, and any federal defect investigations, by model year. See INFINITI QX70 safety recalls or check your VIN.
Complaints owners filed with NHTSA, by the model year of the vehicle. A high count can also mean a popular year, so compare it with how many were sold.

I was driving down the highway and the revs went up really high with some banging and clanging, the check engine light came on and the gears stopped shifting. The dealer told me the transmission valve body failed and it seems to be a common issue in these cars. Not safe to drive as the gears wont shift and this seems to be a sensor in the transmission that is doomed to fail after a matter of time. Infiniti reengineered this part because they know it is going to fail but have not issued a recall.
When driving on the highway the car stopped changing gears and then flashed a check engine light, this has already happened to me on another QX70 infiniti that I had previously owned so it seems to be a common problem especially since Infiniti has now updated the part stamping to a G2A model from an MB3 since they know these parts fail. The car becomes undriveable on the road as gears stop shifting. This isn't something that is determined on how you drive but merely a sensor in the transmission that is prone to failing and creating an unsafe situation. I searched it online and it appears many people have problems with the transmission valve body failing on these poorly designed parts.
Brake fluid began leaking onto the ABS actuator circuit board and created an electrical fire. This melted the engine harness and the connector to the abs module. This was confirmed by dealership technicians at Sewell Infiniti - Dallas. Dealership informed me they could not fix the vehicle because the part needed to replace (affected by a different recall), was discontinued and made me tow the vehicle to my house. The issue was confirmed by mechanics at Parkwood collision - Frisco. InfinitiUSA customer service acknowledged the issue and that they would have the original supplier of the engine harness (discontinued) make me one if I purchased at the dealership (which to my understanding woul…
The issue I have experienced involved my car stalling due to an inaccurate fuel gauge reading: basically, ran out of gas on a road while fuel gage was still showing half tank full. Luckily, was able to avoid any accident. The error code came up: P0462, which stands for âFuel Level Sensor âAâ Circuit Low,â and indicates a problem with the fuel level sensor circuit. I was going to replace the fuel gauge/pump, but was told by a Nissan technical adviser at the dealership, the root cause is likely a faulty instrument cluster module, which is responsible for processing and displaying the fuel level information. This malfunction can lead to incorrect fuel readings, causing the car to stall …
I was driving down the highway on [XXX] near Tucson, Arizona, when I heard a loud boom and my sunroof shattered. There were no cars in front of me, nor did I see anything in the road. It scared me but luckily I had my sunroof visor closed. I pulled off the freeway to check the damage, I had a shattered sunroof with scratches along the top of my vehicle from the flying glass. No call to police was made. I have not repaired sunroof and I am waiting back on insurance to get quote on replacement. A sensor, or trio of sensors, in the passenger side airbag system failed. Nissan/Infiniti says they cant be sure which of the three sensors is causing the problem and needs to replace all three. One of the sensors is integrated into the passenger seat itself and therefore the entire seat must be replaced. This all adds up to a very expensive repair cost of over $10,000 for sensors that are not accessible by the user, and therefore failed because of a manufacturer's defect, and not because of wear and tear, or anything caused by the user. Infiniti is unable to tell me how the passenger side airbag will react in the event of an accident, so that leads me to beleive the vehible is possibly un…
While driving on the interstate, the sunroof exploded. There was no warning, no objects seen that could have hit it, good weather. The glass from the sunroof hit the car behind me and cracked their windshield. Thankfully our sun shade was closed so no shattered glass came into the car and no one was hurt.
Multiple incidents of car not starting or stalling in rain. 1. After a rainstorm while parked, noticed water on the driver side floor and dripping from the driver door side under dashboard, water coming from defective design of sunroof water drains/tubing which are clogged because the tube is too thin which traps common dirt and dust from rain and road water. A wider diameter tubing or requiring maintenance during oil change intervals (blowing air into the tubing to unblock the clog) would likely solve this defect and car owners money. Car would not start for 2 days afterwards until all the water was dried from interior cabin. This problem repeated itself every time it rained - I had to…
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
CERTIFICATION LABEL AND VIN PLATE REPLACEMENT SERVICE INFORMATION Because of collision damage or other vehicle repair, a replacement âCertification Labelâ or âVIN Plate/Labelâ may be needed. HINT: Certification Label = FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) label. These items may be available from Infiniti by request if certain criteria are met. This bulletin lists the criteria and provides an application form for such replacements. · The âVIN Plate/Labelâ (metal plate or vinyl label) is attached to the instrument panel or body on the driver side at the base of the windshi

Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation public data (complaints, manufacturer communications, investigations), model years 2010 and later. Had a safety problem? Report it to NHTSA.
In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2014–2017, owners most often name: air bags, electrical system, service brakes. 23 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
