While driving my 2025 Hyundai Tucson hybrid in traffic, the car suddenly would not accelerate normally when I pressed the accelerator. I was frightened and concerned because I was in active traffic and could not make the car accelerate any faster. I turned on my hazard lights, cut the car completely off, and then restarted it. After restarting, driving returned to normal. The first time it happened, the problem went away after restarting. I thought that I may have done something wrong. The same problem happened again many weeks later. I called Oxmoor Hyundai to explain that I believed this was a safety issue. I had to wait more than 30 days for a service appointment. The dealership kept my c…
There was/is a recall #290 on the tow hitch harness. There was a concern of a fire risk. Hyundaiâs remedy was to cut the harness making the tow hitch unusable. This has been since March. The NHTSA is not putting any pressure on Hyundai to replace the harness. The nHTSA doesnât acknowledge that this recall is still open. All consumers like me who purchased this option can not use it due to the NHTSA recall. How can I get this issue addressed and resolved. It seams like no one is interested in addressing this problem
Vehicle sounds an alarm and flashes message "Consider taking a break" every 5-10 minutes at freeway speeds, regardless of driving patterns. It distracts from attention to traffic or any real problems the vehicle may have.
I heard a loud bang from overhead when driving on the road in August 2026. There was no visible impact from road debris or any other object. Upon stopping and inspecting the vehicle, I found multiple stress cracks throughout the panoramic glass roof panel (part number 81620-N9000). The cracks radiate across the panel with no identifiable impact point, chip, or starburst. SAFETY RISK: The panel is cracked overhead of the front occupants. The bang was loud and startling while the vehicle was in motion, which is a distraction risk. If the panel fails completely, glass could fall onto occupants or exit the vehicle and strike following traffic. DEALER CONFIRMATION: Yes. Two Hyundai dealerships …
While the motor vehicle is in drive, the digital cluster will randomly reboot causing the digital cluster screen to go blank. Sometimes it will reboot and âno signalâ will appear and I would lose my information on speedometer /side view cameras, and other important information for me to drive safely on the road.
While traveling the following have happened multiple times. It has already been serviced by the dealership who corrected all pending recalls and then informed me they could not replicate the problem. It has now happened since the vehicle was returned to me. This morning while driving at freeway speeds. Multiple times Total HUD Failure: The Heads-Up Display (HUD) completely cuts power and turns off. Dashboard Cascade: The digital instrument cluster momentarily flashes almost every critical warning light simultaneously (including Brake, EPS, Charging, and Lane-Keep systems) before clearing itself. Powertrain Integrity: The engine and hybrid powertrain continue to run smoothly with no los…
On Monday, 09/14/2026 at approximately 10:15am Mountain Time Utah State Route 36, North-bound. -- I was driving straight, approximately 60mph on dry road on a sunny day. There was no other traffic on the road either ahead, alongside, or behind me and no oncomming traffic. The Automatic Emergency Braking engaged, the emergency braking indicator flashed on the dashboard and the car slowed way down and then it just stopped engaging and the car rolled freely. I believe that the forward collision warning also sounded. NOTE-- this is not the first time this has happened to me. It has happened at least 3 to 4 times over the past two years since we leased the vehicle. I have asked the dealership s…
On 9/13/26, while driving, all the instrument warning lights came on and stayed on after the car was shut off and back on a few times. Running diagnostics on the car showed everything was working ok. On 9/14/26, The warning lights were off in the morning. On 9/15 while driving, making a left turn, the instrument panel went completely blank, with the exception of the radio part of the screen. My turn signal, speed, fuel, blind spot indicator, etc. nothing showed up. Video is available of the incident.
Repair instructions and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about known issues. A TSB is not a recall, and the repair is usually free only while the car is under warranty; ask your dealer for the bulletin number.
Some Tucson (NX4, NX4A, NX4M), Tucson Hybrid (NX4 HEV), and Tucson Plug-In Hybrid (NX4 PHEV) vehicles may exhibit a 12-volt battery drain due to the passive entry feature of the Digital Key 2 premium causing repeated wakeup of the vehicle. This bulletin provides instructions to perform software updates for the Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) and Body Domain Control (BDC) modules.
Some Palisade (LX2), Tucson (NX4), and Tucson Hybrid (NX4 HEV) vehicles may experience battery drain due to continuous operation of the cooling fan after vehicle ignition has been turned off, potentially resulting in a no-start condition. The continuous cooling fan operation is caused by a stuck relay in the engine room PCB block. This bulletin provides instructions to replace the engine room PCB block to ensure the proper operation of the cooling fan.
This bulletin provides information related to the navigation and head unit software changes introduced in the 2026 1st Navigation Map and Software Update. Some 2019MY and newer vehicles equipped with a front view camera may illuminate certain warning lights and trigger DTC C272246 fault code for the front camera. In the following cases, the front camera auto-calibration range may be exceeded while driving: ⢠If the front camera is not properly installed and is completely or partially detached. ⢠In case of excessive changes affecting the vehicle's balance (e.g., loading excessively heavy cargo in a specific location of the vehicle, or significant under-inflation of the tires). ⢠Specific road conditions affecting the vehicle's balance (e.g
Some Tucson Internal Engine Combustion (ICE), Hybrid, and Plug-in Hybrid (NX4, NX4 HEV, and NX4 PHEV) vehicles may have an inoperable horn that may be caused by foreign substances causing internal parts to oxidize. This bulletin provides instructions on how to replace both inoperative horns.
Certain Tucson Hybrid (NX4 HEV) and Tucson Plug-in Hybrid (NX4 PHEV) vehicles equipped with the 1.6T-GDI Gamma II engine may set DTC P04DB00 (Crankcase Ventilation System Disconnected). NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opens these when complaints point to a possible safety defect. Many end in a recall.
NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The petition can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI Number 11486072. FMVSS 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 KG or less or are defined as low-spe

In complaints filed with NHTSA for model years 2022–2026, owners most often name: forward collision avoidance, electrical system, unknown or other. 360 complaints are on record.
No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
