VEHICLE SAFETY HAZARD: ACTIVE HIGH-VOLTAGE ISOLATION FAULT (DTC P0AA6) WITH DECEPTIVE DEALER/MANUFACTURER BYPASS & CONCEALMENT. On April 15, 2026, the dealer scanned my 2021 Ioniq EV and uncovered DTC P0AA6 (Hybrid/EV Battery Voltage System Isolation Fault), which denotes a catastrophic high-voltage leak into the chassis. This is a severe safety hazard posing immediate risks of fatal electrocution to occupants, EV battery thermal runaway (fire), or sudden total loss of propulsion at highway speeds. Instead of grounding this dangerous vehicle, the dealership concealed the diagnostic code, withheld the physical invoice, and released the vehicle back to me on April 28, falsely claiming it wa…
The instrument cluster (digital speed display) on my 2019 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid Limited has repeatedly turned off while driving. This issue happens randomly, especially in warm weather or after the car has been sitting in the sun. Sometimes the cluster reboots (I hear the start-up chime, the display shows the headlight icon, etc.), other times it remains blank for several minutes. This affects the ability to see speed, gear, and warning indicators, posing a serious safety risk. Iâve had to pull over multiple times because I couldnât see how fast I was driving. Turning the car off and on sometimes resets it, but the issue returns. I am not the only one experiencing this. Other Hyundai own…
When approaching a turn, I let off the accelerator but the car didnât stop accelerating. Instead, it gently kept accelerating. I applied the brakes and the car started slowing down but not at the same rate I was applying brake pressure. Therefore I floored the brakes to try coming to a complete stop. Sadly, the cars ABS system did not engage, half of the car hopped over the curb at about 20 mph. I was able to steer the car back onto the road where it finally came to a stop but acted like it wanted to keep going until full blackout power loss happened. The car was deemed a total loss by my insurance company American Family. Essentially, the vehicle malfunctioned causing the accelerator to s…
The steering is "sticky" causing the vehicle to zig-zag, rather than track straight, especially at highway speeds. If you take your eyes off the road for a second, the vehicle will veer into other lanes. It requires constant vigilance beyond what is required for normal driving to remian in your lane. This is a well-documented issue online involving the ball bearings and lubrication of the intermediate shaft of the steering column.
The contact owns a 2021 Hyundai Ioniq EV. The contact stated that on several occasions the vehicle would not start or could not be restarted after being turned off. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who was unable to determine the exact cause of the failure but indicated that the failure was related to the 12V battery system. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,000.
Refill Coolant warning light intermittently signals EV battery coolant problem. Hyundai dealer in Fort Wayne, IN, topped off coolant. Andrew service representative was informed of two YouTube videos explaining recall due to defective coolant ASC1 that crystalizes and/or becomes sludgy. Video reported dealer changed old coolant with an upgraded coolant ASC2 number in a Hyundai Ioniq Limited 2020 Electric Vehicle 38 kw like my vehicle. Fort Wayne, Glenbrook Hyundai dealer has very little experience or training with EV vehicles, since they offered to change the engine oil. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUs-YoGTMlw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCt6MEbaXCI are video links apparently f…
the Hyundai ioniq 5 doesn't turn on its brake lights when you're using single-pedal driving, as shown in this youtube video: https://youtu.be/U0YW7x9U5TQ?t=97 these should be recalled because you can bring the vehicle to a complete stop without the brakes turning on
Just before 3 PM on Sunday, 14MAY, my Hyundai Ioniq had been charging for a few hours as usual and I heard a circuit breaker "pop". I went outside to check on my car, and my car had started smoking. I immediately unplugged the charger and after the smoke cleared, found that both the charger I purchased months ago and the charge port on the Ioniq had melted. This rendered both items unusable. This is available for inspection. If I had not been home while the car was charging, if the car was inside, or if this had happened at any public charging station, this could of course cause any number of issues, from fire, to being exposed to the carcinogens of the burning/smoking plastics of the port a…

Certain IONIQ Electric (AE EV) and Kona Electric (OS EV) vehicles may exhibit a restricted coolant flow condition, which may be accompanied by a warning message (e.g., Coolant Supplement, Refill Inverter Coolant) in the cluster. No related DTCs are stored, and coolant level is normal in the reservoir tank. The coolant flow may be restricted by debris, causing abnormally high Electric Water Pump (EWP) speed. This TSB contains instructions for confirming high RPMs in the EWP, then using the Coolant Flushing Equipment Set to flush and clean debris from the various cooling system circuits. The coo

No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
