TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 E4 CHRYSLER GLOBAL ELECTRIC MOTOR VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH ATTEMPTING TO ENGAGE THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN THE DRIVERS FOOT ACCIDENTALLY ENGAGED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO INCREASE SPEED AND CRASH INTO A WALL. On 6/10/19 a running change was made on GEM vehicles equipped with doors, relocating the side mirrors to the door frame.
Some 2016-2018 GEM vehicles built with the 500W DC/DC converter have exhibited premature failure of the component, including some thermal-related damage. To address this concern, GEM is releasing this Service Bulletin for dealers to remove 500W converters on all affected units, and replace with a 300W converter.
GEM Technical Service has received some reports of the MCU becoming inoperable after a MCU reflash attempt. GEM is releasing this Team Tip to inform dealers that the software in the EPS on vehicles built from 10/03/2018 to 02/14/2019 is attempting to communicate during the reflash procedure of the MCU. This could interrupt the process, and cause the MCU to become inoperable.
