I was riding in this suv with the owner heading down [XXX] towards Highway [XXX] in Madera, CA . We were approaching a turn onto highway [XXX] and there was slowed or stopped traffic in front of us, we slowed to a stop and then was hit very hard from behind by a newer Mustang.ihad my seat belt on, as usual, but we were hit so hard i hit my face on the dash, causing pain and a bloody nose, swollen lips and head pain. The air bag did not deploy, nor did the seat belt hold me in place. We called 911 and had the CHP come out. The car had to be towed away. When putting the gear shift into park there is a constant SHIFT TO PARK message that plays even when shifted to park and forces the car to stay in accessory mode. This drains the battery and does not allow car to shut down fully. This is a known issue with this make and model of vehicle and GM refuses to make any changes or recall any vehicles. I will have to pay out of pocket for this repair with only 29,000 miles on the vehicle.

During the time of the turbo failure, I was almost hit by another vehicle that had to suddenly brake to avoid hitting me. This turbo failure happens frequently.

No. A complaint is an unverified report from an owner. A technical service bulletin (TSB) is the manufacturer telling dealers how to fix a known issue; it is not a safety recall and is usually covered only under warranty. A recall is a formal safety action, and its repair is free.
File a vehicle safety complaint at NHTSA.gov. NHTSA reads every report, and patterns of complaints are what open defect investigations and, eventually, recalls.
